By far the best surprise in a while. I've been waiting for this manga to resume since I started it - and now it looks like we'll be seeing the director's side of things, I'm so excited!!!
All y'all complaining about how this isn't a development should keep in mind that until now both of them didn't know the others feelings and assumed they'd never be reciprocated. Now they know and its mutual so they can focus all their energy on their own dreams and come back to each other when they're more emotionally stable. As has been made very obvious in this manga, they both have issues that they need to work out and at this point it really doesn't make sense for them to suddenly be in a relationship just because they like each other. They have their careers to think about and the fact that they support and respect each other to the degree that they can be mature about their relationship is honestly so beautiful. The promise Ren made was also the most romantic gesture and I couldn't be happier with this development.
