Imma be honest, Lyn's entire characterization has confused me from the beginning. She's sorta just there, reacting to situations and how other people treat her, but she never clearly states her thoughts or is proactive. Like, what's been her motivation up till now? And now she's becoming a villain I guess???
I feel like her character is pretty clear? Like, she was a simple lower ranking noble that took care of the emperor.
He forced her to marry him. In exchange she gets an easy life, sort of. But the other consorts were jealous and bullied her a lot.
She can't do anything about it because she is fundamentally kind but weak. They're also important nobles and she doesn't want to cause more trouble. So she lives a lonely existence with only the company of the guy who forced this on her kk the first place.
Then the empress comes. She's nice to her. She's kind. She cares. They grow really attached to each other because they're like the only ones who can care for one another equally but then the empress starts getting close to the emperor.
And shes jealous because he takes her only friend away. And then things happen and your closest confident is condemned by the two people closest to you, and then the empress win the emperor's heart and then stops visiting you altogether.
Weeks pass and she never sees you or makes time for you again. You feel abandoned. Hurt. She won't explain herself. You suspect the reason but don't want to ask what you did so wrong. Then you hear whispers of her just using you to get to him, and it makes sense, because what other reason could there be for her to just forget you like that? It hurts.
Lyn is gonna go dark but untill now I like her character and her crash out is kinda understandable
