That didn’t make any sense. Did the Grand Duke not so even the slightest bit of research into who Nera was? How could he not have heard that Nera has a cousin that was the Daughter of his ex lover with Red Eyes too? Sure Duke, Your lover was my real mother, not the daughter she raised that looks like her and has your eyes. Never mind I look like my Father. This plot device is stupid.
None of that happened in the novel, so we are currently flying blind here!
