Okay I came back with the resolve to finally read this and I've gotta say...that's fucking depressing as hell. Somehow or another, I didn't cry. But I have this knot in my throat that's tightening up with every passing second so it may still happen.
I don't regret reading this. But I kind of wish I didn't because I know that this manga will haunt me for a while.
Pao is a brave young soul as well as all the others who suffered alongside him. I just wish that they all could've had it better. I wish that all animals could have it better and not have to suffer from abuse and cruelty. Life is such a bitch sometimes.

Exactly. I think she also feels guilty for not being able to protect him when he was little. I don't think it was her fault, and I am sure her son does not blame her, but she probably does blame herself for that. And so she went straight into protective mother hen mode.
If there's anything I've learned about K-dramas and webtoons, it's that 99.99% of issues can be resolved by sitting down and talking the issue out.
I'm crying right now because it's such a beautiful and happy ending.
