it was a very painful but somewhat realistic read, and as a queer person, it obviously hit very close to home. however, being a repressed gay person isn't any justification for how Mitsui raped and physically + sexually abused Sone. i wish the author showed more of how Mitsui repented for his actions as the days passed by and he came to accept himself and realised how much he was loved and cherished by Sone.
