I knew it! He was so obvious in his interest with iris with the questions he was asking and concern about the family. I was guessing he might attend the masquerade as the prince (coz he is pretending to be not the prince in real life) and dance with Iris. Shoujo plot and everything. Totally ship them. Ashley is too meek, skilless and needy for me.
I find it funny the prince got tagged by Mildred as unsuitable coz she thought he was poor.

Grenick may love her but as someone who has a lower status than she is he may have other priorities than love. Like money, food and achieving his life long dream. Did she even think of that of the fact that if she pushes to be with Grenick and he loses his job as a knight she will lose all the privileges she has now and be poor the rest of her life with a husband who will be sad and guilty for her the rest of his life?
