It's played for laughs because he is younger and probably included in the first place to make him a celibate hero. I know Asta never giving up is part of his charm but this one thing is not full of 'morals and values' it's creepy/cringeworthy. Tech you could say nuns are married to God right? Is it ok to declare your love regularly to a woman in front of her husband?
