Travis' character isnt regressing, I think its growing steadily, but suddenly stopping stuff he's been doing all his life (especially when he hated humans in the first place) would be ridiculous. I think the author is going for slow character development here, guys.

We’re still at the beginning of the story so anything can unfold. But I don’t think it’s fair that some people are already willing to demonize Kyujin based on what seems like just a cute puppy crush so far. All the while making excuses of saying we don’t know the story of dark-haired guy yet. We may not know his past but in the present, he’s already shown he’s forceful and obsessive with Chinwoo.

After checking out Never Understand, I can firmly say that this isnt a flashback? Yall are overthinking it. That, or you're confused by the people saying they're getting war flashbacks from Never Understand.
I'll clear it up: He says he doesnt talk to Soyeon now, and isnt involved with her. His hands have these marks now, but they werent present in Never Understand. That means that they happened afterward, and I guess we'll find out later (Idk for sure though, I only looked at the last 10 or so chapters).
I'm saying this to say that you guys should rest easy knowing that these arent flashbacks. But, considering how rocky NU was, if this is going to be a long story, I wouldnt get too comfortable.
