I'm so weak for stories about middle aged men, and this one hurts particularly good. So much heartache and time wasted just because both of them wanted some semblance of what society deems normal. If only they weren't such dumbasses when they were 18, ffs... I'm just glad that they have a supportive family (the ex wives and daughter are the champs, seriously) and that they can finally be together.
Sure! This one's my favorite:

This one too, it might not seem like it but both MCs are 37

When makoto cried because he was so touched seeing tohru cry for his sake, and how he turned away to hide his face while tohru was just standing behind him, longing to hug him---that's probably my favorite scene from a BL manga, ever. Everything that built up to that scene: makoto losing his only sanctuary after tohru's confession, makoto being abused by his boss in front of tohru (whom he just realized he loves), tohru and makoto feeling helpless about the situation, and finally both of them finding solace in each other.
This manga is so damn beautiful. All panels are well thought out and beautifully drawn, it almost felt like watching a movie with great cinematography. And the writing is also great, like i get that this is Basso after all, but whoa. She managed to write a believable and well developed romance between the MCs in just 5 chapters.
All in all great read, forever thankful for the author and the team who made it available for me.
I hated mayumi a lot at first because of the assault he did on hitoshi. I was preparing myself for the story to take the usual yaoi route of a rape victim falling in love with his rapist, but i'm relieved that it didn't turn quite like that.
Hitoshi is attached to mayumi because of the traumatic bonding-thing, but at least he is aware of that, and he clearly addressed it with mayumi. Mayumi on the other hand is paying his dues by saving hitoshi repeatedly... and now that they're in some kind of relationship, i can see that mayumi is respectful towards hitoshi's boundaries, and more than that, he has no intention to hurt him. I still have mixed feelings towards mayumi though. Like, good on you for taking care of hitoshi, but fuck you for tormenting him when you first met him.

Wtf did i just read
good question
