Man I know it's unreasonable but I really wish they could've humiliated Mielle by announcing that they were sent to the wrong person and that it was Aria receiving them ╥﹏╥

iirc this actually happens later down the road (and I mean much much later).
Asher will still be sending gifts to both sister's to keep up appearances (w/ Aria getting the more lavish gifts). I think there's even a point where Mielle stops receiving gifts and/or is told that she's not getting anymore but my memory of the ending of the novel is hazy lol

Wow she's an ultra holy mother white lotus

Here's a more serious answer lol. Basically a white lotus is a female lead who is apparently very naive, innocent and can do no wrong. Everyone loves her and see no faults in her even if they do make a really bad mistake. They earn sympathy by crying and throwing a pity party in front of the ML or supporting characters. They're not exactly a mary sue because unlike Mary-sues. White lotus were made to be weak, like someone who was made to be rescued constantly. They gotta constantly depend on other people and their dependancy can lead to supporting character deaths

Nah-that's just a plain schemer lol. White lotus earned their title because they're well..as pure as a white lotus(??????) The ones we see in these stories, the so called white lotus are fake bitches who acts like they're white lotuses when they aren't. The current heroine of the current story is an example of an actual white lotus. Very innocent and naive. Trusts others too easily and isn't scheming shit in her head. As far as we know anyways since we haven't seen her inner monologue.
A good example of a fake white lotus was the reincarnated girl from the first story. She acts like a white lotus but is a scheming little bitch who ruined multiple lives just to get the emperor.

I already know I'm gonna get flack for saying this, but I personally love adele's strength to fight for her own happiness. The relationship between the Duke and Adele up to that point was only bound by convenience, and if he never acknowledged that he loved her, she would never feel secure in the relationship, and these niggling insecurities can be really damaging. What's more, the Duke is some supremely eligible bachelor with ladies constantly going gaga over him, and Adele doesn't even have the political backing to keep his actions and those of others in check. His vague emotions of like would have been the only thing binding them after the ordeal with Susan was over, and Adele has so much more to lose as a woman in such a society

I agree I keep seeing comments about how people don't like her attitude and such and I just don't get it. Adele knows what she wants and is straightforward about it, she is confident in herself and knows herself well enough to know that she will not be happy in this relationship if it continues on in this path.

Yes!! Everyone keeps saying that the Duke is being manipulated by her, but honestly he has free will, and he can always choose to let her leave. I'm sure Adele is aware that such a possibility exists, despite it being low in probability, and it demonstrates that she is confirming his love rather than manipulating him

That is 100% valid point, communication is always key! And although she could've probably been more straightforward I feel she did give him that chance during their other conversation. The reason I say that I support her is because I'm someone who really believes in love languages, and it seemed like to me hers was words of affirmation and since the beginning he seemed like the type that struggles with that. I was just happy that she wasn't just going through the marriage without ever having her love language used especially in this time setting.
Anyone know where to find raws?
