Honestly, I think if Mokyeon told Seonhwa that he fell for Nanjo during the threesomes, he would be like “Woah really, did not see that coming.” Everyone hates on Seonhwa way too much but he’s been nothing but chill and reasonable so far? Yeah he’s a golddigger but it’s not like he doesn’t know it. Everyone just hates him for being the 3rd party but it’s Mokyeon that made things complicated.

Mostly talking about the way that he handles Mokyeon. Mokyeon has been pretty shitty to him for no reason (at least in his eyes) and he’s been nothing but chill about it even though a normal person would be freaking out, though I guess that means Seonhwa’s not all that right in the head as well. Also if you think about it, I don’t think he and Nanjo are exclusive. Nanjo is more bothered by the fact that Seonhwa might be getting hurt than possibly be sleeping with someone else. By that logic, Nanjo is “cheating” as well. Seonhwa is a slut, liar and golddigger but he is not a hypocrite. Something, that I’m afraid to say, despite my love for his character, Mokyeon absolutely is.

Some of y’all can’t handle morally complex characters that aren’t your definitions of “green flag” or whatever Tiktok crap there is so our literature is suffering because of it. Let Mokyeon be a piece of shit and learn his lesson and watch him grovel and pity himself and be pathetic. It’s for the plot! Let Nanjo be a naive beautiful dumbass who probably has a major savior complex with probably a tragic backstory (I think) to back it up. Let Seonhwa be a gold digger who knows for a fact that Nanjo doesn’t love him seriously and has an endless stash of cash that he can take advantage of. THESE ARE CHARACTERS. Their only job is to appear as human as possible and be as interesting as they can be. We can like characters and not agree with their actions but enjoy their complexity.
Saw comments saying that this was a disappointing plot point since they wanted an uke to be a badass but now he’s just a victim and I was so horrified. As if victims can be reduced to just that, their victimhood. A person can be a strong and badass but can also have vulnerabilities and can be exploited by people. I understand not liking these types of stories but being disappointed in a character for simply being a victim of sexual abuse (which we know nothing about) is wild to me.
No for real. They act like if the uke is a victim it equals weak. There are still badass ukes who are victims. Being groomed doesn't make them less badass.
