I kinda think he’s like this because he internally hates himself as well, and he’s used being enabled by mc to act like this. Now MC feels uncomfortable because it’s toxic in a different way but he hasn’t realized why he feels he’s walking in eggshells. I do think both of them are probably better of separated than together. MC needs therapy I think to have a professional tell him this is unhealthy and ML needs serious help cause he might have psychotic tendencies that were undiagnosed

In the "i couldnt pick up the second book because i couldnt bear to" kind of way. But this is also bc i personally didnt like how the story was going and how it ended, not because the book was bad or anything.. The story was engaging and worth to read, so you should try it!
