I can imagine Tokiko is already dead or barely hanging onto life. Takei may die between here and in the next few chapters or Nanao, being too kind for her own good, gives him the punishment to live and repent for his crimes. Although, execution may be the second option

Basically it’s cause they’re straight (or so they thought) that they think like that. A straight person’s mind will immediately associate the opposite gender when it comes to romantic situations. Only someone who knows they’re gay or attracted to the opposite sex won’t think like that.
