What part of these characters being genderless do y’all not understand?

its not the fault of the scanlators, don't blame everything on them. The Japanese language has no intersex nor gender less pronouns although they have words to refer to those types of people its not necessarily a pronoun and they is used in context when referring to multiple people not as a pronoun for an individual.

Japanese creators really need to stop making it so that male characters drop their last names in favor of their female spouse’s last name. There should never be a reason for a man to do that. (╯°Д °)╯╧╧

I mean, by today's standards unless you're part of a royal lineage, there's no legitimate reason why a woman has to take her husband-to-be's surname either— other than preference.
In older times, women were viewed as kind of like property, and marriage+changing her surname was seen as passing ownership and responsibility from her father to her spouse; And royalty is a no-brainer, since there's a duty to keep the name of the literal people who own that land and govern the people.
Personally, I like the idea of taking both names to respect and acknowledge the unity of both families.

It’s not a ‘Japanese thing’. I’m from Australia and I know many young couples doing this. Because honestly why not? In one case, the husband doesn’t like his last name because it associates him with his father who abandoned him and his family, leaving his sickly mother to raise two sons on her own. While his wife’s dad has been a great father figure that he wanted and needed. Therefore he felt honoured to take his wife’s last name.
I’m sorry, but I’m getting tired of these manga creators treating normal sex like it’s rape. No matter how many times Chiaki and Daigo have sex, she’s always screaming at him to stop, as if she doesn’t enjoy it. She doesn’t appear to even want to stimulate him either. And always acting like they’ve never had sex before. It’s so nerve-racking.
As a female reader, it’s a massive turn off how she’s behaving. How am I supposed to enjoy this if she’s not enjoying it?
It's the Japanese mindset. Basically, a woman should always be embarrassed, meek and coy about having sex and during sex. Even when they portray them as having some sexual agency, like Chiaki does, she still needs to keep that innocent, meek trait so she won't appear to have "loose morals" or something like that. Otherwise she falls into the "fallen woman" trope, even though that's not remotely accurate.
I want to thumbs up this comment.
This trope Japan has where the woman has to beg and cry during sex or pretend to not understand sex...even though they're a grown adult, happens in every smut manga. There have been times where I was just put off or completely annoyed by the screaming and tears.
It can also be a kink dude. Why do you think safe words exist? For show? Like bruh.
Exactly is the consent non consensual kink. I mean I’m not defending that there is defamation some red flags but there is a kink for that type of play.
