I can't help it man, how am I supposed to ship Javier with the girl who only shows up for 10 chapters max when Javier yearns for his ''friend'' for years and tries to bring him back even if it mean cleaving trough dimensions to be with him?
I love the Queen and I 1000% support him but maaaan imagine if this was BL.

It's really tragic, watching a shounen where the male protags have insane chemistry and they yearn for each other like their lives don't matter without the other but they always gotta end with women because reasons.
At least in this story the female characters actually have personalities and are very well written but maaan imagine if they were just allowed to make them kiss.
Narusasu core tbh.

T-t-the Dokkaebi King??!?!?! Aaand yup, it's all over the screen, dattebayo fellas!
The clairvoyance girl piss me off ''She could've got a good sponsor'' you almost killed her ass just to look cool in front of the cons shut yo pretentious ass up
She trying to aurafarm like she's the main character, just go home you're embarrassing yourself.

I changed my opinion, this shit is so ass.
Yes the excuses they gave for the story were good but thinking about it, just ML's actions are enough to derail the entire plot.
Imagine being a poor commoner, surviving 12 different plagues and feeding off of stale breadcrumbs your family got executed for stealing and hearing your prince, the literal ruler of this kingdom say ''wow those nobles are so corrupt for treating people like this, I hope someone does something about it''
ML has two options: cheese and rat poison. He saw how the sister was a corrupt and evil person, he also saw how MC was a strong and dependable person who cares about the people but for some reason, DESPITE trying to aura farm the entire manga (trying to look like a tragic hero) he still can't chose?
He's choosing to be petty over his past rather than to protect the kingdom he ''cares about so much''
like?? ''All those nobles are so corrupt'' okay?? do something about it then???? you're the prince??? you have the power????
if the power dynamics are at play then why bother with the fiancee program?
If all you care about is the kingdom why would you get an evil queen who has no problem hurting people?
If all you care about is power and position why would you get a low blood queen who's literally perfect at everything but doesn't have legitimacy?
both of these options can lead to bad consequences and I might be wrong but didn't the king say he'll be the new emperor when he gets married?
I don't think his father is straight up evil so why would either of them just watch the kingdom fall? I know MC is pity farming by acting all sad and pathetic because of his past but you'd think he would put his trauma aside for the sake of his people?
90% of his dialogues are about how nobles are corrupt and how MC is different so if he really does care about the people why wouldn't he just work with his father or MC to put them down?
If anybody has any explanations please tell me.

MC the type of guy who needs instructions for shampoo
MC the type of guy who needs youtube tutorials to open a door
MC the type of guy who wears shoes on his bed
MC the type of guy who thinks planes stay in the air while the earth rotates to the correct destination
MC the type of guy who buys Twitter Blue Subscribtions
MC the type of guy who wipes his ass before shitting
MC the type of guy who thinks he's unironically that screaming wolf image
MC the type of guy who thinks the sun goes away when it's raining
MC the type of guy who works at McDonald's and always gets your order wrong somehow
MC the type of guy who thinks chiken (animal) and chicken (food) are seperate things.
I'm sorry but I like this mangaka more than the original.
The original is a masterpiece, it's amazing, it uses every single character to their fullest potential and makes them shine while giving them their own moment to save the day but damn.
The dramatic scenes in the original are amazing but this one is on another level.
It's literally incredible how the mangaka manages to make every single character so cunty, so pretty, so twisted, so incredibly exciting to follow.
Kiriwo in the original was amazing, he was a really likable character but the way this mangaka focuses on Kiriwo's emotional side more just speaks to me more.
Yes he was emotional and determined in the original but at the end of the day he just let his demon side take over his situationship with Iruma and forgot about them being soulmates because the prospect of eating him became more important.
This one? Kiriwo is fully okay with killing himself if it's with the guy he met yesterday. No matter how much you hype their relationship in the original, it won't reach this level of insane romance between them.
The reason why I like this Iruma over the original is because the original is more childish in it's nature with everything being solved with the power of friendship and good nature meanwhile this one is a lot more unforgiving when it comes to dark topics.
In the original, if things get really fucked we can always trust on characters like Sully to solve the problem because Iruma is a child who's not even allowed to touch problems bigger than himself but this one?
In this manga, Iruma is basically all alone at the top. Yes Sully exists but Iruma is given much more power than the original because instead of just being a grandson who's only duty is to bring good grades, this Iruma is tasked with not only being a good leader to his subjects but to also completely reform the mafia to fit his ideals.
In the original the topic of ''what would you do with the underworld if you had power'' is brought up a lot but it always seems like a distant problem because Iruma is a student first and he's only in his first year. Not only he has 4 years of school to complete but he also has to defeat the other grandsons for the throne.
This one? Iruma is already on the throne and his duty is actually using that power to morph the mafia into his ideal group. He has to train, he has to recruit and he has to protect his subject from dying.
That's a level of responsibility Iruma is just not ready for in the original. Yes he protected his friends from danger in the original but it was never his DUTY to do it. He just had to because of circumstances.
His life consists of having fun with his friends which is sometimes interrupted with messed up situations that the grown ups couldn't handle alone.
This one? his entire life goal is to not literally fucking die! He's forced to be stronger so he could protect the people around him because there's nobody else who can do it. He's at the top, he's the leader so he HAS TO get his eagle on.
In the original he can always be protected by the magical adults around him who are determined to protect the students from dangerous topics (like the traitor arc where they all said fuck the exam in order to capture the spider guy)
In this version there are no magic powers, no magical solutions and no power plays. They are all just human beings who can only do what human beings can do to get out of situations.
The way Iruma looked so twisted and evil? it would never happen in the original because Iruma being a good person was the entire reason why the demons around him got enchanted by his kindness.
Original Iruma would never need to be wicked evil and cruel in order to save the day because the people around him follow and help him save the day.
People who only started liking him becase of his unwavering determination and kindness.
This version? he has no problem risking his death if it means victory. He got used to the cruel and wicked ways of the mafia and he has no problem using those same methods to achieve him goals.
In the original, Iruma would never do anything evil and twisted without being pushed into a corner or being manipulated
Not just because he's a good person but because he's surrounded by magical people who are always on high alert to protect the children from danger.
If things go wrong, Sully or literally any other extremely powerful demons can rush into the scene to provide a solution but it's just not possible in this version.
In this world they're all limited by their humanity. They can't just use magic to save the day.
That's why Iruma using his wicked and cruel side to turn the tables is always such a fresh and insteresting thing to see.
You would never see Iruma smile like that or manipulate a slave trader to sell his soul for 3 dollars. The darker side of things are always hid from the students because they're children.
In this one Iruma has friends yes, but he isn't afraid to use fucked up methods to get his way if it means happiness for his people.
It's so insanely cool and amazing seeing an innocent cinnamon roll act like a real demon to turn the tables.
The fact I read everything like it was a real critique review...
It gave me goosebumps waah
You have a talent!
And I agree with everything!! Both are amazing and so different despite having the same characters
The art is amazing too. It was good in the original and the big dramatic moments always get the shine they deserve but oh my god.
This one almost seems like an art upgrade, the dramatic moments hit more because there's always more risk involved and the genre being darker than the original.
The original the story is all about demons but we never see anything too dark because we view it from the child protag's eyes who is usually kept away from the darker sides by the adults.
The original is a determined character who always tries their best to save the day like a regular shounen protag but you would never see him use fucked up methods to achieve it because there's always a bigger powerful person to protect him if things get too tough.
Like Sully rushing to stop the fireworks from burning students, Mephisto killing the sea monsters, teachers trying to capture the spider traitor etc.
In this one Sully is on the same power level of Iruma who is a human being. Their only power difference lies on their experience / position levels. Otherwise both of them can die to the same nuclear bomb.
That's why it feels more urgent and stressful here because even if you know how the original goes and what will happen, you still get stressed because they can't magically save the day.
It starts changing the story little by little because you have to substitute the scenes of magic with human beings trying their best to come up with a plausible plan to save the day instead.
Chewing on my pillow like an animal because the art and story tingled my brain
I truly enjoy your review, but I guess if there's a downside to the mafia au, it's that there's no misfit around iruma. And tbh, I like that the original iruma was weak to begin with (in a way he couldn't beat the stronger demon who's literally an adult) often in shounen you will see the protagonist (a literal teenage) powercrept their seniors and teachers just because they, well, the protagonist, but that power creep didn't happen in iruma and they had reliable adults around them and that's what made me like og iruma in the first place hehe
I think Iruma is weaker in this one. He's inexperienced and he definitely lacks the brawls to depend on when the situation gets tough as opposed to OG who has the ring of gluttony and his archery skills to get out of situations, not even counting Ali.
This Iruma has to try really hard to come up with a perfect plan at the spot, using every means possible even if it means being cruel and wicked.
That's why I like this version over the original.
In the original Iruma always has a way out, be it Sully, his friends or his magical powers as opposed to this one where even a single wrong decision could lead to his people getting massacred. He has to claw his way to victory even if it means stabbing people in the back or being intentionally wicked to get his way.
ARRRGGHHHHH I'm boutta rip my skin off my face I love this manga so much
This abnormal obsession is normal, don't worry.
(You'd do well in the demon universe--)
