Probably the funniest thing in the entire manga is how a yuri couple made cat & mouse chase incredibly romantic and passionate but the moment a straight man says the same thing it's an instant ick.

This manga makes my brain tingle sooo much, I love how the art is more polished and dark, showing blood and death like that.
The original has shockingly very little blood considering it's in hell but I guess it makes sense since they have rules and regulations there as opposed to this one where we're watching mafia kill each other for power.
It's kind of ironic, the demon au is very soft and cute while the human au has more darker themes.
One thing I'm obsessed with is the parallels and how different in nature they are.
In the original Iruma has leaf / flower patterns in his hair while Kiriwo was trying to see his desperate face but it this one the pattern is more scaley, like a snake.
In the original he didn't despair because he's good natured and determined while in this one he's one step ahead because of his sneaky nature who's willing to do stuff behind people's back.
I love how twisted his smile looks, like he's the one enjoying Kiriwo's despair.

He guessed Kiriwo had a nasty personality and made preparations to stop him before he was even revealed, the original Iruma only realized his true nature when he already made the school into a labyrinth.

In the original Iruma was slowly turning more wicked because of twisted people he come across but it wasn't that apparent because 90% of his encounters are with demons who are good in nature.
He only used his anger when Rock took advantage of him and lied about Jazz's illness.
This version is already at the peak of his development. He's already twisted to the core because he grew up in bloody mafia business instead of sanitized and safe underworld.
The original Iruma is always ready to give a helping hand to people he comes across because he doesn't think they could betray him. That's why he got fucked over by Kiriwo and Rock. He chooses to believe them until they actually betray Iruma.
This one probably already tasted enough betrayals and had mafia 101 drilled into him. He can't afford to give a hand to everyone he comes across, he's cautious enough to make preparations in case of a betrayer and he makes sure to give hell to people who take advantage of him.
Mafia AU doesn't have the privilege of giving people the benefit of the doubt, because unlike the original where MC is surrounded by all powerful demons, this one just has very good but ultimately human companions who can't fly, who can't teleport and who can't use magic based powers to defeat the villains.
Everything boils down to your weapons, your ability to use them and your intuition to prepare for the future so your entire family won't be killed by a single bomb.
That's why I love this Iruma more than the original, because this version is already twisted beyond repair and always has to be at his A+ game to survive.
You could never see the original Iruma wanting someone to burn themselves to prove their loyalty, buying someone's soul and dooming them to eternal servitude or straight up stabbing someone in the back with no clear hostility.
