To be honest I don't think MC could've killed him since even in his frantic state he couldn't shoot Head.
I think that maybe they were fuckbuddies and MC was just delusional and saw it as a much more romantic relationship than it was.
He was resentful because Henry decided to stay as fuckbuddies or tried to end the relationship for someone else.
Other theory is, Henry loved MC but got the ick because he's a crazy scientist, or too obsessed with him.
Maybe he left because MC was in love with the idea of Henry instead of the real person.
