the donghua and the comic tend to leave out a few details and the pacing is of course rushed so I'd really recommend finishing the novel! Also, anything other than the novel will be very censored as it's made for a more public view, if you want all the romance and stuff, read it!

Oh, I finished reading the novel a couple of days after writing my original comment! Agreed, though! The novel is a must, but the other adaptations are always fun. The donghua is better than expected too, so my fall is pretty much made just from that!

Yeah, I doubted the donghua at first but the first episode was so funny I wasn't even concentrating on the animation style lololol can't wait for the next episode :D

I mean, MXTX is getting a lot of popularity lately thanks to CQL having been such a success. I heard that she's working on another novel and we've got donghuas for both SVSSS and TGCF, and they're working on a drama for TGCF too. I'm not sure how they're gonna hide the gay in SVSSS, but if we're lucky we should get another two seasons (maybe three, depending on how they're going to handle it) to cover all of the novel and, who knows, if we're REALLY lucky maybe we can also get a drama for SVSSS too!

I don't think they're likely to drop the donghua, though. Yeah, the animation looks really bad at some parts, but the reception is pretty good overall. If bad CGI didn't stop them from dropping three MDZS seasons despite it having a waaaaaay larger and pickier fanbase, I doubt they will with SVSSS since we're all so starved for content we'll literally take any scraps they'll give us (as long as they don't force some hetero couple with any of the main characters, anyway, which is unlikely because I bet Chinese producers are TERRIFIED of the Chinese MXTX fans at this point). Hopefully they have a bigger budget for next season though, it would be tragic if Airplane Bro ended up having lifeless eyes because all budget goes to making sure SQQ and LBH look dashing and perfect lmao
