I think Niella or whatever her name was, was actually the one who killed MC in the original novel and take everything belongs to MC in the first place. That's why a new chapter was unlocked everytime MC took back what belongs to her.
and I think the white hair guy, probably the ML, was actually MC's childhood friend or something in the original novel since ML knew the existence of MC, and was enraged when he knew the one who killed MC was Niella (probably).
Thats all but if this is adaption from a novel please let me know because I want to read the novel hehe

Oh yeahh that totally makes sense, i think that could be the case. And as mentioned in the current timeline, the white sword people are bad so maybe they were bad in the og novel too and maybe niella was sent by them as a spy and thats why the duke family treated her like that becoz as you said they couldnt do much coz the sword reacted to her. OR the entire og story could be from fl's narrative where she basically just lied to the readers abt being treated poorly in the dukedom just to gain ml's favor and make him help her destroy the duke's family. Coz maybe she made ml believe that katisha was treated poorly by them or she was locked and abused somethg like that so ml helped the fl just to realise that katisha is already dead and fl was decieving him to use his powers.
Ogfl being an unreliable narrator is a good take!!
