Holy SHIT THIS WAS A LOT
Tldr 47: Edgar and Cameron got caught, cussed out and consequences!
Tldr 48: both Cameron and father are reminiscing about the rare moments when they truly loved each other, and on the moments where they tried. Cameron then kills the lord
Ok! So for 47, edgar and Cameron were literally just chilling and planning their futures, but when they were getting a little touchy, the lord saw (because June led him there out of anger and resentment). And dude wasn't even mad despite the screaming, he was fucking ecstatic that he no longer had to deal with Cameron! So to tie everything up nice and neat, he decided to send Edgar back to England, and Cameron to a nuthouse (which if you know anything about history you know those places are death traps).
Oh and June also got cussed out.
48 was a RIDE. Cameron and the lord are both thinking about the past. Those few times where they truly loved each other as father and son, and the moments where they resented each other, but still tried bc the love was still there. But the lord was tired (and frankly scared) of his son. So when he saw Edgar and Cameron he realized that he's done now. Cameron tried one last time to speak with his father and apologized as a son. But the lord wouldn't hear it and let him go. This drove the heartbroken Cameron to get rid of the man who would now only hurt him (in multiple ways).
And guess what kids! It only gets worse from here! We haven't even gotten to Edgar gouging out his eye yet!
Another week another disaster everyone
Tldr: June tried living her life, got caught lacking (a small joke was made about how she speaks like a servant) and goes to ruin Edgar's life. Like this may result in him dying not just getting fired.
June is continuing to pursue her art career and is starting to get slightly sick from the emarld green that she uses (symbolism). When she goes back to the boutique to have her work admired/hung up, an actual art critic is there.
Obviously June tries to be respectful, but since she has no idea how noble women actually act, she falls back into her normal mannerisms which are that of a servant. When this gets called out she is embarrassed. On top of that, her art gets properly criticized for the first time. (Basically she was told that its pretty, but you can tell she isn't a professional due to her brush strokes. The wildness of them shows her own desire to be free so more symbolism).
Both humiliated and devastated (its really not that deep like they were making small jokes and having a normal conversation but ok) June runs out with her art, tripping in the process. Laying on the floor, she thinks back to when Cameron "loved her" and "would always be there for her" (THERE ARE QUOTES HERE FOR A REASON, IM BEING SARCASTIC). She gets mad thinking of the emarld lover, and even more so when she realizes its Edgar, cursing him out and saying that he has always taken away everything she wanted/likes, and if she can't have anything then neither can he (selfish but go off ig)
June goes back to the estate and tells the master about Cameron and Edgar. And remember that in this time period being gay is not accepted, so they're cooked.
Everyone is an asshole! It gets worse each week! Why are we all still here
What's up yall! I hated that apology!
Tldr: Edgar wants to focus only on Cameron and serving the estate, and gave June a selfish apology (IN MY OPINION)
In this short chapter, we see Edgar back at the estate finally, and he is now living his life with pride. He has a master who he is proud to serve (and love) and the clock is finally fixed (symbolism ofc). He also apologized to June.
The apology itself was extremely well done, my personal issue with it is that it wasn't truly meant for June. Edgar apologized to put that part of him behind him and into the past, wanting only to focus on what's happening now. Even with giving June money to live her life, he could have asked for letters or updates
They were a HUGE part of each other's lives, so for him to just say "heres some money, my bad go be free little bird" seems kinda half hearted and obligated as opposed to "hey, I messed up bad. I want you to be happy and live your life, but please still send word that youre ok. I dont love you romantically, but I care about you like family, so I will always support you and worry about you" DO WE SEE THE DIFFERENCE?
Anyways I could be reading way too much into this, but yeah
Ok wow, this was a chapter.
To start, the former maid tells Edgar not to trust the Nobles bc they suck, and just to claim his own legitimacy for the sake of money. Edgar doesn't want that though, so he goes back to the estate (probably without telling Veronica) and meets with Cameron
We see flashbacks of Cameron, and it explains how he has always "worn his heart on his sleeve" and when someone catches his fancy, he will enjoy the attention but constantly test them to see if they truly love him and are willing to go the distance for him. Best example I can think of is how Joker made Harley jump into acid to prove her love.
To keep sane, Cameron has made a mirage of the Midnight Lover, and Edgar shows proof that it's him. Both men are so desperate for unconditional love that they'll take it from anyone who fits their description if it. Cameron's is his pedestal lover, and Edgar's is anyone who will never leave.
Yes they're cousins
Hello once more
Again, easy chapter this time, though extremely funked up.
TLDR: Cameron has always been mentally unwell, Edgar's mom is living with rose colored glasses until forced otherwise, Edgar's dad is a bastard (like a shit person not a noble) and the maid does not get paid enough to deal with all this.
Cameron was born! His mother has died! He is obsessed with death and an absolute brat! Yay mental health issues that were never addressed! Also, he was ignored bc no one trusted his blood (like that is his to control)
Edgar's mother waited for years for his father to show up, and when he never did she hunted him down and asked for elope. She was excited for love, he was excited for the money, which is why he was dressed duper fancy despite being broke.
Once halfway gone, the mother realized that her son has been sold off and is heartbroken. The man she loved was not a good person, and she finally realized it too late.
The maid (also the narrator the last w chapters) actually says to the lady's gave "I am done, this is bullshit, and imma get home somehow. Good luck girlie pop have fun". Before she can leave, the mother gives her the locket she had made for Edgar. Says the maid needs to give it to him if they ever meet. Then she runs away, never to be seen or heard from again (imma assume she died, but up to interpretation).
After learning all this, instead of reacting like a sane person, Edgar is ecstatic, he is the emerald lover, he is who Cameron has been chasing now he can truly be loved and a part of a family.
Also side note. The reason he couldn't feel this way with June is because he is gay, but denied it for so long. Now that he's learned he is the cousin of Cameron, he feels that gives him permission to accept that part of himself (but only for Cameron, anyone else is indecent).
All in all, everyone is fucked
Ok so this chapter is pretty straight forward so im not gonna go into detail and just summerize.
First lady of the house died after giving birth to Veronica. The new lady came in with her sister, and all the servants loved them so they helped them however they could. The sister of the lady fell for a known scoundrel, the Irish gardener of the property. He wanted her money, she wanted to be loved.
They had a child, and that exposed the affir. The Gardner was given the child and told to fuck off, he was given a letter of recommendation to work somewhere else. However, he had a scar from when the master beat him, and he was extremely doubtful of the letter bc he couldn't read it. So why would he trust the man that is sending him off in a rage?
Edgar's mom was essentially put on house arrest and her actual husband was betrayed and no longer trust her. Edgar's aunt (the lady of the house) vouched for her innocence despite knowing her sister was guilty on all charges.
The aunt gave birth to Cameron (I didn't really catch this part the panels started glitching/repeating? Idk why but pls lmk how to fix that) and he was a reminder of infidelity. So nobody in this family is happy and yes they are all related.
Yay drama and suffering for plot! How delightful
Ok, so if yall don't like these lmk, but imma start breaking these down so it's easier to understand.
And yall, we do kinda need to start feeling bad for June, I don't like her but she is a victim.
Edgar and Veronica are fighting. Veronica is invading Edgar's privacy and demanding he tells her about what drugs he's taking, but Edgar is embarrassed about needed mental health, is exhausted, and frankly mad at the world so he lashes out at Veronica making fun of her romantic live towards Cameron.
Realizing his cruelty, he runs out to the doctor, where he talks about his life and what led him to this point. He also confesses to betraying June for his own benefit and jealousy (so to the person I was arguing with before, you were right I apologize). While there, the doctor starts talking about Passcel, and Edgar is shocked and offended by the doctors actions, bc that means Edgar's private information is being talked about to others as well.
After running out of there, Edgar walks in the rain depressed and discouraged until his mother's maid appears before him. Edgar doesn't know she served his mother, but looks at the pendant and realizes who is parents are, and that he is the emerald lover. What he will do with this info remains to be seen (mysterious oooooo~)
(Tldr: Edgar was mean to Veronica, realizes he's probably been outed by the doctor to others especially Passcel, and learned he is the emerald lover/who is parents really are)

Damn so this is just kinda sad to read
Tldr: Cameron is both relieved and filled with regret, Edgar is ECSTATIC and Veronica is horrified
So Cameron messed with the carriage wheels resulting in his father's death. Veronica knows something happened and is working towards exposing her brother bc she's mad. Unlike Cameron, despite her not being allowed to inherit the estate she truly loved her father.
Now Edgar is thriving. HE is now in charge of everything, and for a control freak nothing is better. He is also getting rid of those who bullied him under the pretense of "maintaining efficiency" and he gets called out on his bullshit but it doesn't matter because he's in charge! And taking care of his "one true love"! Hurray!
Cameron is conflicted. On one hand, he's free from his father's control and influence, and he has the estate as an even bigger "fuck you". On the other hand, he's never really wanted the estate. Such a free soul cant be tied down, and he's feeling the weight of the ropes. He doesn care for Edgar, but not enough to want to stay.
Welp, we've now committed murder, so nothing is off limits in this story! Let's see where this goes (=・ω・=)
