Well, the term “cannibalism” is an act of eating a your own, a person eating another person. The other idea of cannibalism in plot like this is for them to be one. You know? “you are what you eat”. It simply puts the idea of them being together till the end as they each other. One thing that is interesting here is how the love was conveyed down to the max idealism which is cannibalism but given the fact that it's a zombie plot one, it's not really deep—but the thoughts of the black haired one is gives off the idea of deep love and feelings as he really did brace the idea of him living with the goal of eating the other character.
