I noticed that too, I'm not sure as to the consumption of the blood but I think what mattered was that Eren ate the host of the War Hammer Titan, or rather what was left over lol. Because I think forcing the Jaw Titan to crush the crystal between his jaws possibly broke some teeth off and I think Eren was able to eat her that way.
