True true!!! I even got mad at my husband watching that one anime with harem because the mc sucks and all the girls are just.. I dunno.. useless? And there's something in this manga that makes me like all the ladies and the Mc. Like the harem is not forced
What I can deduct from this is that Mc, Kijima and red ant (which appeared in MC's mind when he almost gave up) was a family. And that they're the Ant-Castle Project subjects. The dad (Kijima) drunk on wanting to get more power after being an insector, wanted to consume his own family. Mom (Red Ant) fought with Kijima to protect MC and due to the fight, the lab exploded.
The "Case" that Kijima was looking for is MC. He is special and holds a tremendous power I think it's due to him being the No. 1 or very first test subject and is quiet young at that time . You know how on other stories goes about how special or I say, limited edition are the first subjects.
Yeah maybe some of the mom's ants lie dormant in the Mc to protect him or it's an illusion not sure.
They also mentioned one of them survived and is in capture, that might be the mom (only the higher ups know) or Nr. 2 Kijima that actually escaped but they tried to hide that fact.
It would explain why only the page of the mom and son got ripped off from the book.
It would be interesting to see how the son came to live an ordinary life, he doesn't seem to be under surveillance except for Kijima's.
Maybe he was presumed a failure and Nr. 1 is the mom (who Kijima suspects to be with the son - plottwist).

I can somehow understand Ichi tho... I was also in the same position or thought way back I liked this guy from our church but.. he's from a good and well-known family, his grandad likes me but somehow I don't feel worthy enough to pursue him.. he gave me some hints through his emails/messages (because he was in a mission at that time) that you know, he likes me but never outright told me.. which really made things worse for my thoughts..
The time I knew he liked me was when I already had my first baby... Sooooo...
