See, it’s good that it has a happy ending. Rape in BLs ain’t new to me and im not surpised anymore because i know it grabs more attention when authors pick this theme for dark stories.
but honestly im so tired and so over BL stories or any story for that matter packed with so much sexual assault in their stories that’s supposed to make you feel bad for the mc but then it’s illustrated as if readers are VOYEURS of rape. Like let’s not deny that these rape scenes are perverse and author sexualized a character’s trauma.
I already get it, he’s going through awful shit, but letting it take over almost entirety of chapters, illustrated to arouse readers is ironic. We get ittt, the story is meant to be dark. But you know what makes a dark story good? When it focuses on the character themselves, their growth, their inner thoughts and liberation instead of shoving forced sex scenes in my face. If it’s rape trauma then illustrate it as that- TRAUMATIZING.
Authors can do better than this. Rape in smut category is fucking tiring, especially when it’s intended to be serious and to raise awareness but does the exact opposite, treating it like it’s porn and they can get away with it because most of the characters look attractive.

i first read this at b@to and i gotta say, the comment section here is so tame compared to there. People out there were loud and proud simping for ML at the first part, romanticizing rape and manipulation. I swear there’s a lot of reflecting to do LMFAO, like they’re not even mentioning the redemption and character development. No matter if its fiction, its disgusting to romanticize two harmful things and then act like you’re the victim for being dogpiled on and being “moralized” because you publicly post that you get horny for rapist 2d men the lack of self-awareness is LAUGHABLE, some things you just keep to yourself bc it ain’t something to be proud of lolololol

Okay, i still like it. But it felt like the author just jampacked too much climax right at the end of the main story lmfao. There was too much going on, and then there’s some random dream squished in between, sudden flashbacks, this random ‘writing the reality’ plot detail that didn’t have enough impact, and then bam bam bam right after the other more conflicts. They all get resolved so quick that we don’t even have the time to digest what happened right before LOL Then all of a sudden, a damn timeskip???? And then all of a sudden everything’s okay. I think it’s too rushed out of nowhere, what the hell happened to the pacing from previous chapters I think I’d have appreciated it more if it was paced better but it ended up being so unsatisfying with the way i resorted to rushing through pages because i was watching 6 more came-out-of-the-left-field problems. I’m just glad it’s a happy ending
I’m sad because I really loved it so much at the start to the middle of the story but the unexpected rush kinda ruined it for me. I also get this feeling that author originally planned for jiwoo or one of them to die but changed their mind lol
The comments scared me a little but gave it a shot and i don’t regret it. Such fragile yet strong relationship between mc and ml, i love it tons.
The concept of the ml having a first love and obsession with an imaginary figure is so new to me, and while the beginning with han frustrated me so much, the author didn’t really miss with tackling it as a mental health issue. I do think he needs more therapy though, but it was really satisfying how he and yijun were able to save each other. And the idea of love being the reason for it is always welcome.
