Song Yao did not invite the other guy to his house straight away, he said "do you wanna grab a bite, it's my treat." -- this means he is offering to take him out for a meal and pay for it. The next scene we find out that the black hair guy INSISTED on eating at his house, you need to read a bit carefully. Song Yao told him to sleep over because the neighborhood isn't safe at night, which is reasonable since the kid saved his life. I mean, why would he have any reason to think the kid will hurt him if he saved his life? It's pretty reasonable~
