It shows the hold an abusive parents has over you even barely alive a weak af, and for the fact that they call themselves 'friend' I find it so funny, it's like an inside joke between them. They called themselves 'business partners' when they were friends but now they call the other 'friend'... so what does that make them? Boyfriends obviously.
