But would you not say the same for the ML? Sure you can argue that the reason ML doesn’t speak up or ask the FL questions is bc he’s emotionally not well and insecure about where he stands. And that’s a human thing. But why is that not applicable to the FL? Why is the FL meant to be a perfectly written love interest who is always understanding of the emotional vulnerability of the ML when she herself is just as human and just as flawed as the ML and so would have insecurities and flaws of her own? They’re both unable to confront this misunderstanding between them for personal reasons and fears of their own, however different they may be. That is the very core of the problem theyre facing rn.
