This mangaka makes exceedingly good shoujo. I can't find any in the genre that's better! Not only are the expressions on the faces incredible, but the scripts are both romantic and funny. The humour is really good, it's real humour, not slapstick as in so many comedy manga. And the romance isn't mushy and slimey. In short: Sugoi!!
(I laughed my head off with the Henry VIII and Mary Tudor-fantasy)
They do seem to have trouble coming up with new plot twists, the mangaka, lately. Handsome seme gets dumped by his wife, & leaves her child with him; young man who loves him takes her place, kid plays the Cupid part. And always such bad mothers! Strangest thing is, all these yaoi mangaka are women. Are they trying to give themselves a bad name?
i mean just because a women is a the 'bad one' doesn't mean really that the mangakka is trying to paint a bad image of women. We already know that women in the real world is usually the better parent of the two. In the real world, dads usually are seen as the bad parent. So yeah, maybe see it as the fact that women can be bad and that men can make good parents or is as caring as females can be.
I don't think that the womens in the yaoi mangas are any where near the image of the real women like seriously no one is going to say " oh what a bad mother. All women must be like that " just from a yaoi manga . And all the ones who read these mangas are teenagers and above so .. and also there are alot of other yaois mangas that shows the females as a very strong beautiful and understanding
I don't mean it like that; what I mean is that in reality and many other literary works and mangas, women are usually the "good parent". I, myself, don't believe that women are always the better parent. Sometimes dad too can be a better parent. But in real life, you would hear a lot more about shitty dads than shitty moms.
True irl... there are more shitty dads and shitty mom. My uncle is the definition of shitty. All he can do is lying, buried in debt, and play with prostitutes. Since marriage he never even gave a penny to my aunt. She should have file a divorce a long time ago, but somehow she never did. Among my fathers’ family, I have 6 other uncles, all of them are shitty and problematic. Most of them loved to play with other women or waste so much money. One of my uncle, his wife just recently got diagnosed with cancer, but he didnt fckin care. He even visit this particular women’s house everyday and spend a hell lot of money for her instead of using the money to cure his wife. Mostly I met shitty men. Good men are very rare, if there are any, they are either taken or gay... T_T
Don't I know! I am one myself, not Japanese but Belgian, but still I am a mangaka, and I don't get paid either, because I can't find an editor for my work, most of the time. So I'd rather have the kids read it on line for free, than have it sit unread and unseen in my drawers... It is true it isn't an easy job, but it's great fun, I wouldn't want to do anything else. Still, from my postition as an old colleague of theirs, I can be a tad more critical than youse kids ;-)
sure. I'll give a link to my cloud: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B9AzYu_Ng3mLNWFPYVg1OGRTTlU
they're illustrations of a book I made some years ago, and some more illustrations. No need for any text in Dutch.
Let me know if you don't see them for some reason.
Uhh, your drawing is not that good either. Totally outdated style, unexpressive, with unbalanced body proportions. You need to practice a lot more.
Sorry. But you are so arrogant and rude. You have a really high ego as well. I think you look down on people too much.
I don't. Critics among professionals have nothing to do with emotions like arrogance, nobody looks down on anybody, and they're not meant to be rude. Just realistic. I don't have a high ego. I just am rather demanding where graphic quality is concerned.
You shouldn't try to analyze people on the basis of what they write about something: it doesn't say anything about them, just about the subject. And the subject was not the mangaka's personality, but his work. So my personality doesn't come into it either.
Exceedingly good drawing, very very Pixar-school, both in the faces and the fluent gestures. Yet even if the girls do look Frozen-like, thank God the story is not as mushy! I'm not sure it fits in here, though, it's not even remotely Japanese or Korean style... but very good and funny. This person handles his/her pencil reeeaaaallly well.
It strikes me how Japanese mangaka keep making up stories about bad mothers. It's useful as an excuse to make the little hero pitiful, but it sure gives Japanese mothers a bad name. I hope you people aren't going to think in reality, Japanese women are such horrible mothers like in all these manga! In fact, Japanese women are the most caring and doting mothers you can have!
This is well-drawn, though. Quite a realistic story, too; although it would be much more credible in a place like Brazil or so. Not Japan. But it makes a change from all those lovey-dovey yaoi.

I'm soooo hungry now
I want me some mochi, and some amazake
and I woudln't say no to some of that other stuff, what was it called again... whatever, I want Japanese food!
This is real good drawing, by the way.
Farming fantasy and if you are into cooking. I can't believe there is a way to make your own Sake. Your are right the manga did make me hungry. and thanks again to the poster who who shared their slice of life list.
