i do want to remind people that the duke's family are literal monsters, literally the first few chapters they tried to bury pershanti when she accidently drank the blood and then made her drink it again to make sure she was actually immune. we have sympathy cause we see their background but like they arent good ppl

pershanti should not have gone there. celphi's mom has clearly said her piece and she is done. not everyone is good to raise kids and she said it herself that she did not believe she can raise him right and that the family would (most likely) stop her from taking celphi. she does not want people talking about her in the village she lives in. i actually dont see her doing anything wrong tbh and she has the right to warn pershanti but she isnt forcing her to break up with the duke or anything.

i read some comments and they are so right. because the duke is becoming better noe doesnt mean he is in any shape a good person. i went back to the first few chapters and he was so ready to bury her and not even inform her family. they are terrible people even if they have a sad backstory. although i like their dynamics, they are the true villain's and im sure celphi's mom felt that.
tbh idk what to feel about celphi's mom cause she didnt try anything but gave her experince of what happened which she is valid for
I’m so glad you have this viewpoint because I felt weird reading this chapter but now I see why, it’s because you know they are bad people but you wanna give the benefit of the doubt bc you follow them throughout the story and see how they r acting towards Pereshati. I nearly forgot how the duke was abt to throw her life away, they have sad background stories but that doesn’t justify their actions towards others.
