just a few chapters before they had finally have a decent conversation about her difficult life in gimora where she finally opened up. and now he put down her status that she literally have nothing just so that she felt “weak” enough to give in and sleep with him
this guy is fuckin insane i hope the chasing and repenting arc is satisfsctory. anyone knows?

i love it when the protagonists are writers, they are always most poetic. and their love brought tears to my eyes it’s sooo paintul and sweet
the beginning is rather slow and it makes me almost give up a couple of times if not from (semi) trusted source recommendation that this manga is good.
i think the backstory is just so fucking painful for both of them so i'm just happy they end up together. i suppose major plothole is in my ???? confusion as to why is that doctor so obsessed with the protagonist. yes he lost his memories so what ??? you need to send guys after guys after him ??? and if the doctor friend actually loves him shouldnt he saved the protagonist instead ???
and i think the antagonistic character as well as the background plot (the dissolution of the concentration camp) is not as well-portrayed so the climax is just ehhhhh what really makes this story well-done for me is the delivery/execution and the build up of the relationship between savonne and llewelyn otherwise the story is just mid i think

male fantasy is solo-levelling dungeons, female fantasy is saving everyone you love and care about from the apocalypse
just finished reading this today !!!! and i really really enjoyed the fresh take on dungeon story, i'm kind of sick of reading regression story where people has an edge over the story bc they know how the world is gonna end (no hate though, i just think ORV is perfect so i dont want to read anything similar to its veins)
what really stands out to me is actually moa's character - she carries this entire webtoon on her back for me. a lot of the outcome that happened here, as jihan says, is really caused by her innate kindness and genuine desire to want to save people and then the whole world just .... helps her give the opportunity and with her smartness combined, moa was able to take these opportunities and turn them into miracles
yessss sometimes there are some plot holes that i believe maybe if i were to read the webnovel instead i wouldnt be as confused. like in the beginning after jihan died i was so confused as to why no one was freaking out bc of the first ranker died and then only a few chapters later did the story reveal it was bc people thought he was out hunting in other dungeons ??? idk im sure its even more well-written and we have more insights of moa's inner feelings (which im v curious to read) in the webnovel ..... (and i'm a big reader UGH its just i dont want to read badly translated webnovels anymore after surviving 551 chapters of ORV)
MOA DESERVES EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS HERE !!!
+ ban seojin is so hot if this was an otome game id romance her in every route even if she were a non playable character
(speaking of ORV im glad the system and the dungeon didnt collapse just bc they won against the predator)

i’m absolutely in love with the way this writer writes about women and female friendships since i read make up remover. and my favorite genre is shounen! so when i read this i was just gagged every chapter.
i love that everyone was able to come alive including the original protagonist and they won over the devil and create their own miracles. that was the perfect ending.

i think what i like about this story is the multilayeredness of both cirrus and skylar’s personality. cirrus is manipulative but hes also gentle and caring (as we can see towards candy). skylar is social but antisocial too at the same time, certainly anger prone but he can also be surprisingly patient and accepting (esp towards cirrus).
in some sense indeed as other commenters said there are some things that are yet to have closures - cirrus’ relationship with his dad is better but it’s still tense, minwoo is still out there getting away for bullying cirrus who had to bear the burn of everything. and ofc chanil didnt know that cirrus used to take photos of him still!
but in the middle of the storm its just the two of them outgrowing their trauma and being each other’s safe haven and forming more good friendships because with at least each other by their side cirrus and skylar are no longer afraid to just be themselves
i like how skylar is more mellow out compared to before and cirrus is calmer like he doesnt have to manipulate people to make them stay. and of course both of them finding real friends that i hope will accept their relationship too (i know my boy chanil would!)

hmm i actually really like the main character hes goofy but he has his brilliant and trickster moments. obviously although he picks up clues he often came into the wrong conclusions which was why in that dangerous world he got increasinly tangled w dangerous people like ilay and the twink (sorry i forgot his name). AND HE REALLY HAS NO SENSE OF DANGER !! what a freak
i actually LOVE ilay’s character in the beginning? and i wish to see more of these in latter chapters too? like he’s so calm, intellectual, and charming. and i would have been drawn to him too despite my reservations abt his murderous rampage tendency. thinking of mads mikkelseon’s hannibal. the conversation between him and tay was funny and all clever banter too. so i suppose i become really sad in latter chapters but i do think we finally get to see the full spectrum of ilay’s character after the tay betrayal arc. clearly dumbass tay didnt realize the thing that hurt ilay the most is him leaving ilya and not about being drugged or SAd. and then after that well the unhinged bl yandere male lead’s obsession and rape arc happened and i definitely feel repulsed by this side of him.
at the same time its really in his nature to act this way as he really is a psychopath and you cant tame a wild beast can you? its in their nature to devour - only a fool will want to try to tame a beast (tay is the fool)
definitely super difficult for me to stomach the multiple rape in this manga and i do feel that if tay could better communicate his feelings and boundaries some of these shits can be avoided - but again as his uncle said tay is actually not very confrontational when it comes to issues related to himself what with him grappling w self esteem issues (and thus i suspect subconsciously tay might just think he deserves all of this shit / his self preservation instinct doesnt kick in)
still all ilay wants to hear is an i like you from tae and as much as i feel like this is a whole ass stockholm syndrome happening here - at the end of the day they certainly match each others freak so i wish both tay and illay a happily ever after (after more suffering on ilay’s end please !!!

I think Tae didn’t say he liked Ilay earlier was because he himself was in denial. Like how could he fall for such a crazy m-fer?
The way I saw it, the attraction was there from the very beginning for both of them, and in Tae’s case I think it became obvious when he spend those days by Ilay’s bedside when he was stabbed and poisoned (right before

oh no yeah for sure tae was a FREAK for ilay since the beginning - normal people would run away but ilay keep showing him this other more human side of him since that first fated video call and it keeps reeling him in. as u said it just really takes a while for tae to admit it to himself bc no sane person in broad daylight would want to romance ilay

before investing the next 6 hours of my life bingereading rainbow city can anyone tell me what makes it so good

I got you bro but first I gotta warn you about the SA in chap 3, where the ml almost puts his dick in the mc’s mouth while he’s passed out, best to skip it because the rest of the time he’s green.
Let’s start with the plot shall we? Solid post apocalyptic plot which evolved around a controlling government and the mystery that lies within this highly military controlled city, a mysterious cult that wants to work to take down the city with hidden agendas of their own, and the true behind the vaccine and the virus as a whole. Let me summarize the beginning of the plot real quick
It’s post apocalyptic setting in which a company had decided to release a virus to sell vaccines turning everybody into a zombie. The virus started to mutate this rendering the vaccine useless and the world was declared for a state of emergency. As nations fell they banded together in over to stop the spread of the vaccine, creating what is the main setting of the story “rainbow city” in Seoul Korea which was a city mainly controlled by the government split into seven sections to measure the zombie or “Adam” rate, with green being the safest and red being the most dangerous as well as military bases to to train and raise soldiers and hiring researchers in order to develop newer vaccines, but the problem was that the virus kept mutating and have already mutated 7 times rendering all the vaccines useless and the story goes from there. The only place unaffected by the virus was JeJu Island which is where the protagonist, Dr.SeokHwa, came from. A 34 year old poker faced genius researcher with a weak body that isn’t strong enough to even run, and had a strong obsession with rocks (reason will be revealed later) who once had been to rainbow city with his mentor but had returned back to JeJu Island to live a peaceful life was now needed to research the new variant. So the city sent soldier “Major Kwak SuHwan” to get him off the Island as well as the job of being the doctor’s personal bodyguard because Major Kwak Suhwan, being the strongest man in Rainbow city, barged into the red zone late at night without warning and caused a shit ton of chaos, massacring Adams just to fuel his alcohol addiction and was now given 2 options. 1. Get Dr.Seok off JeJu island and be his guard or 2. Go to the guardhouse which was basically a detention center for soldiers. Major Kwak, having the most fuckboy personality and was still reluctant to do it, manages to convince Dr.Seok to go back. However, he soon figures out the reason. Dr.Seok’s old mentor had been murdered in the base. With that, Dr.Seok starts to research the death of his mentor and starts to find things in Rainbow City that is not what it seems.
Now our Mc, Dr.Seok, mentally strong mc with his own will.
Our ML Kwak suhwan who has a f boy personality but is also two faced at the fact he hides a dark past and hidden agendas towards the government.
We have our loveable side characters, Major Lee and Major Yang who are loveable in personality and the fact they are ACTUALLY RELEVANT TO THE PLOT. Many side characters here are also relevant to the plot. (I mean when do you get loveable female characters in a bl? You’ll love Major Lee)
And ofc my favorite part, the dynamic. It starts off with them thinking each other is annoying to these two slowly falling in love and becoming equally as obsessed with each other, romance is a side plot BUT THE BUILD UP THE BURNN AHHHHH.
And the unpredictable plot that just keeps you GUESSING. Sometimes what happens next will seem obvious but it’ll go a completely different route, and EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING in this story will have a deeper purpose. (Except the SA in chap 3)
SO READ (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
turns out it’s not like i did not like GL, i just have never felt a love interest that fit my type just like the gumiho
