I've finished the novel, and yes, as everyone is saying it's just brutal suffering and abuse for the majority of the story. There's a gang rape scene coming up, and gang rape again happens later on. It does go into both character's pasts and explain their history together, and it explains why Juyeon tortures and abuses Jiwook. Jiwook does escape from Juyeon but it's VERY brief, and Jiwook receives extreme abuse as a result.
By the end, it's mostly Stockholm syndrome and Jiwook has been conditioned to depend on and need Juyeon. Juyeon successfully isolates Jiwook from his friends and everyone he knows and have his 'world' mostly revolve around him. Jiwook experiences episodes of PTSD and auditory hallucinations from his trauma of getting gang raped + abused (and he attempts to take his life a multiple times) which he and Juyeon agree for him to start having therapy sessions. But that's basically how it ends, after all the extreme and intense torture and abuse, it's just Stockholm syndrome and conditioned psychological responses (e.g., Jiwook's conditioned masochism tendencies)

One night, Juyeon got really drunk at a party and confessed his feelings to Jiwook. Jiwook obviously liked him back also, but couldn't accept his feelings for another man, nor accept a man's feelings for him. Hence, he started bullying Juyeon; coercing him into sexual acts and blackmailing him with the photos/videos (which he had done to many girls in the past). He then tricks/corners Juyeon to meet him in the gymnasium I think it was? Where he and his friends gang-rape Juyeon.

They had a discussion abt it outside Dajun's house, and Uigun was saying he didn't want Dajun to leave him and he'll do better etc. Dajun's twin was lurking nearby and overheard this conversation. Anyway, later Uigun begged Dajun to sleep w him one more time, but then tried to change his mind bc he was desperate and just wanted a little more time with Dajun. Dajun decided to have sex w Uigun anyway - whole situation seeming a bit dub-con. After they have sex, he refuses to stick around and leaves. Uigun, heartbroken abt the situation, gets a text from someone to meet him at the club he frequents. Turns out it's Dajun's twin, Uigun gets punched by some guy (after defending Dajun's twin and jumping in the way of the guy's fist). They go to a hotel, Dajun's twin apologises to Uigun for getting punched, and then asks if Uigun is in love with Dajun, Uigun asks how he knows, and Dajun's twin says he overhead his conversation with Dajun. Dajun's twin then says that he looks like Dajun if Uigun wanted to sleep with him, and then tries to come onto him.
