Okaaay…I get showing not telling is a thing when it comes to storytelling but why does it feel like we already skipped ten chapters when it’s chapter 1?
I can guess what’s going on by context but I’ve never read anything that literally starts with zero exposition. Like who the hell are these people? Why did you wear an eyepatch when you don’t need it? How can a carnivorous mystical being go from a diet of the blood of your enemies to eating only strawberries? How old are you? Who are these enemies!? How is your father okay with a shirtless homicidal manic hanging out in your yard?! Σ( ￣□￣||)
