All y’all talking about the steamy sex and I’m here like:
*nods* yes yes very nice. But what about her DRESSES!! ヾ(☆▽☆)
I mean FINALLY an artist that can appropriately style! They’re rich and important ladies yet, some of these poor MC’s in these stories I can’t help but cringe.
‘.....is that NEON LIME GREEN!?! wth? wait wait why would you guys make her wear a completely dirt brown dress!?’

As much as I Stan this story with all of you, I’m really getting tired of hearing how terrible the OG Chloe was. Her being pitiful does not in any way shape or form excuse her mistreatment.
That’s the same argument abusive people use all the time. “If you hadn’t so-and-so I wouldn’t hit you”.
And yes she made mistakes but that doesn’t mean all of a sudden she was deserving of all that.
If at any time she had been shown any compassion or god forbid at least taught her how to perform her duties, who knows how things might’ve been.

Reminds me of the current job market. Entry level position without benefits/crap benefits with a requirement of ten years experience in a job/skill/procedure only in existence for five. Or four year degree but no experience= retail, food, cleaning, and/or nothing that can pay back loans.
Chloe wasn't chosen because she was duchess material. She was chosen because her husband needed a woman who wouldn't cling onto him and one he thought he would never grow attached to. But the staff was expecting someone who could pick up the extra tasks deligated to them in a duchess' absence.
I completely agree things would have been quite different had someone actually given her the chance to learn her position. I suspect her head maid also had a part in that but the biggest culprit was the duke for choosing to marry her in the first place.
I plan to read this at some point but I can’t stop laughing over the title. Someone else has to have pointed out the same thing.
In English to “break wind” means to fart. And I have a good long laugh every time this gets updated.
Wind breaker is a type of sport clothing
