Aaalso spoilers if anyone wants them, hozumi never really abandoned eiichi, when he left the country he even offered to take eiichi with him, but he thought it was a joke and refused. He never called back because he was afraid eiichi was gonna get mad at him if he did cause he never told him when he was leaving, & was working his ass off wherever he was so he could meet eiichi again. (Eiichi thought he was abandoned cause he was away for work when hozumi left, and by the time he came back hozumi had already gone.)
Also eiichi isn’t actually riku’s real father. The girl was pregnant with the kid of the dude she broke up with and was going to be a single mom. They were friends, and agreed to marry because it would be good for both of them. (Eiichi liked kids, his parents wanted grandkids, and he didn’t think he could date anymore)

Lol guys I read it, I don’t think it’s shoujo. There’s no girls or romance as far as I can see, and shoujo’s not in the tags for it on pixiv either. It’s more of a slice of life/drama(?) kind of manga I think.
