First of all we’re not COMPLETELY sure she’s the ex. Second of all, it is mentally and physically draining to have to take care of a sick family member that causes financial hardship. And from the looks of it it seems her father’s been sick for a very long time. She mentioned she just barely managed to save 2,000,000 won which is less than $2000 USD (not much). Not saying that it’s okay to wish death upon her father but everyone is allowed a few moment of weakness and if her father died I’m sure she would feel sad and guilty about having had those thoughts. (let’s not pretend we’ve never said hurtful things to our parents before and regretted them)

Everyone has their reasons, plus we dont know anything about the father besides that one fact, which is fairly meaningless in my opinion and doesnt say anything about their actual relationship at all.
Also this kind of reasoning is so dumb, i get it that you think its wrong, but wishing someone to suffer is just as awful. People think they are somehow morally better than those who did smth wrong , and it somehow justifies telling them to suffer by getting the same things happen or even worse.

I'm not saying she is in the right, my point was that even when someone is in the wrong it doesnt put one in the right by acting the same to "punish" them. And tough situations will bring out the worst of us, but that doest mean that everybody should do the same. It will not make anything better just worse

Sure it’s not the same, but can you say you’ve been in the same situation as this character? And it’s easy to say “even if I were I would never wish such a thing” but truth is we’ll never truely know until then. Also people seem to be forgetting the other factors such as strained relations with her mother, relationship where she feels she has to hide the truth, no support, no money and biggest of all is the dynamic of Korean society/household. The author just scratched the surface but someone who’s going through all that is bound to have dark thoughts.
I stayed up all night and read this #noregrets but I wish the epilogue was longer. Show more of their everyday lives with their 3 children. We don’t even know their names.
