This is another one of those stories that should have taken a lot more chapters to complete, to flesh out the characters of Shuuji and Tatsumi, as well as providing more tension and touching moments to really bring their relationship together. Beautiful art, angsty main characters and lots of potential in the side characters, but as it is, the story is really abrupt. So Tatsumi is a bitter asshole with a history of "trauma," and Shuuji was severely abused and seeking some kind of acceptance somewhere - now build a lot more on their interactions (not just the sex) and it could have been an emotional piece.

Shit on a stick. So suspenseful. I was excited to see that Chap 15 update had more than 50 pages thinking we'd get a lot more story, but then started to get a little frustrated when I saw that most of the pages still only had one panel. I should have known better. Still, getting to know more about their history was good.
Something to think about: Is it rape if it's an android made to be a companion? I mean, yeah, he said it's forbidden to do it with anyone other than his master, but that's probably because he was programmed that way. He's a machine, technically. No soul. Hmmmm....
Anyway, I am a hardcore horror and sci-fi fan, so combining this genre with yaoi was a treat for me!

Hiro only dreams about being raped by the horse. Hiro is the older brother, who used to be sexually abused by his father. His father raped him and fisted him. His father probably raped him out in the barn, where he kept his horse, though I don't think he actually had sex with the horse. I think because of the trauma, Hiro sees his father and the horse as one, since being fisted and a size of a horse's dick is probably similar. When his father dies, Hiro goes home for the funeral. Eishi is the younger brother, who accuses Hiro of being the one his father loved the most (because he used to see what happened). Hiro get's pissed, telling Eishi "that's a lie", "what do you know" and that their mother even knew about it but didn't do anything. Hiro being pissed, takes it out on his brother and sort of starts to rape him - holding him down and forcing Eishi to blow him - but Eishi starts to reciprocate by fingering his ass. Eishi tells Hiro "you're not raping me, I want to do this" and also starts to fist Hiro. Eishi tells Hiro he will be the replacement for father. The end.
I think what was most traumatizing for Hiro is that he enjoyed the fisting. I think the horse is definitely symbolism for his father - a kind of cross over from being fisted and raped while being tied up in the barn, most likely in the presence of the horse? It did seem like at one point he was about to be raped by the horse, but I think that was what he saw in his mind. The crazy looking people watching him being raped by the horse in the dream - I think they symbolize the people who knew what was going on (mom, brother, anyone else?), but never said or did anything, most likely thinking horrible things about Hiro. Psych class done.

There will always be manga with topics that to many people are obscene, vulgar, taboo. Rape, lolicon, shotacon, tentacle porn, beastiality, and also lesser evils such as cheating or panamorous relationships, etc. Part of the reason is that the Japanese culture and society are experts at keeping their real lives separate from fantasy, they are expert at keeping love, family, work, and sex separate (in any of those combinations), and because of the extreme pressures they are subjected to in school and work, they use it as a form of release. They read hentai manga because it's a way to experience the taboo without actually getting involved in it. And because it's a made-up cartoon version, for example shotacon vs actual child pornography, manga rape vs real rape, etc, it's not as risky (and much easier to access). Their regular, boring and monotonous lives are untouched. I was reading an article somewhere (can't find it now) about the Japanese attitude toward some of the themes in manga, and to sum it up I guess, it would be, "What happens in manga, stays in manga."
That's not how our brain actually works. The stuff we read/watch influences us greatly. There have been a few psychological studies done on this and the results were scary, we think we can control our attitudes and norms but it is shaped by everything we do. So yeah, those themes are not innocent just because they aren't real.
Yes and no. I wasn't saying that the themes were innocent, just that most people can separate fantasy from reality, and because of it, use it to escape from stresses of real life. I've had some pretty fucked up dreams, and that's my brain de-stressing, but when I'm awake, there's no way I'm going to do what I just did in my dream. And yes, humans can be influenced. Some more easily than others, and in many varying ways. I read yaoi of all kinds - sometimes it includes rape and shotacon, but I'm not so influenced as to want to do it myself. Our brains are too complex to say that just because we read, see, hear, or dream something, we're going to act out on it. As humans, we have the ability to reason and to make choices based on what we are taught is right or wrong. Yes, there are people who don't have those inhibitors that tell them to stop - so unfortunately, they can be dangerous when influenced.
