Probably one of the most ridiculous yaoi plots I've ever read. A dick-shrinking disease that is treated by massaging the prostrate. Aren't there dildos for that? Get one with a good suction cup and voila! Instant daily shower prostate massage, and hands free so you can fap at the same time. Anyway, definitely out there as far as ideas go, but cute art and characters, and funny too.
XXXDDDD
For anyone interested, the chapter titles translated:
nise x koi boyfriend = imitation x love boyfriend
yowamushi kareshi to rokudenashi = weakling boyfriend and a good-for-nothing
kimi to boku de chouchou musubi o = you and me in a butterfly knot (commonly used when tying an obi on a japanese kimono)
usotsuki to happy end o = liar and (or with a) happy end
yowamushi kareshi to kuroi neko = weakling boyfriend and black cat
I really like the main story of Nisei x Koi Boyfriend, but this one irritated me. Like Soutarou doesn't have enough of a complex and a hard time trying to measure up to his boyfriend that looks good as both a guy and a girl? Poor kid. Since Satoi-kun loves him so much, he should have been a little more supportive instead of getting jealous and telling him he looked ugly. That was harsh, man, just harsh.
I actually really liked it. I know a lot of people are angry about the rape thing, but again, this is yaoi. If Takayama doesn't have a problem with it, then let it go, let it go. He apparently had his eye on Ishikawa to begin with, and the whole situation opened Takayama's eyes to the fact that Ishikawa isn't the perfect employee he thought he was, which made Takayama more relaxed and open around Ishikawa. Believe it or not, some people (character in this case), aren't as quick to damn or judge others.
I will admit that it annoyed the heck out of me when Ishikawa said "I thing other gays are disgusting" - another example of "I can have sex or fall in love with this one particular guy, but that doesn't make me gay." Uh, it makes you bisexual. If you can have physical relations or romantic feelings for someone of the same gender, then you are not heterosexual, dummy. It's not that black and white.
I only feel sorry for Taki in that he is a 15 year old who had his first heart break with a crush. I don't think it would have been a healthy relationship if he (at 15) had become lovers with his father's former lover, especially since his dad and sensei had, and still have feelings for each other. This is really the perfect ending. Taki has a crush, but he is mature enough to understand that his feelings for his family, his father, are more important. For Taki, I'm sure any feelings for sensei would mature to become respect and love on a family level, and seeing the two most important men in his life be happy and in love would be enough for him. Not to mention, Taki is sure to have his own whirlwind romance one day, and of course we all hope that it's with his cute, thoughtful, and very open-minded friend.
"Because in this lifetime, Akira is my only lover." - Hazuki
But Akira is an escort who is proud of his job, so you aren't his only lover, even though he does love you.
To each his own. If you don't like that type of relationship, you may not like this manga.
I think you might be confused as to how Akira does his profession. He is an Escort, and states that any and all relationships he may have with his clients are purely fictional. He didn't actually bed the woman, he simply spent time with her as any other Escort does. As you can see in the Manga, he also stated that to Kamio's sister, who mistook the relationship that Akira and her had from "Escort and client", to "Lovers". The reason the mess happened was because she got too attached. And the reason Hazuki accepts Akira's profession is because he understands that. He understands that although Akira may say things like "He only has eyes for a certain client", in the end, it is simply a role that Akira plays.
But of course I can see how many people can get confused and uncomfortable with this kind of relationship, and wholeheartedly agree with you that this manga is not for everyone.
You misunderstood. Not even a lover's relationship necessarily means bedding someone. Escort services may be a client and employee relationship but one that is required to mimic romantic (in other words, love, which I do believe is the root of LOVERS?) relationships just because of the job description itself.
Btw, if you're going to raise the objection that fiction is not reality then I wonder where else it could be, oh-so-conveniently, applied? (It's not an objection I'd ever raise but often those who do are the ones who avoid applying it consistently, for some strange reason.)
Falling in love with someone from the escort service is no one's fault as others have implied either. If it were, then it would be the employee's fault for not setting clear boundaries in the first place, as that should ALSO be part of the job, just as it is in every other part of the service industry, especially in places like Japan. It should definitely be considered the employee's fault by those who would typically accuse the victim of a sexual assault for not setting clear boundaries. After all, in this case it is actually a PART of the individual's job description (fortunately, I'm not like that and this was just a comment made to point out the hypocrisy of others who do typically victim blame the one who was assaulted).
But someone complaining about someone else approaching their lover, PRETENDING to be in love with them, while being in the business of pretending to be in love with others - which is a form of deception in and of itself - yourself, is hypocrisy, especially when you're as proud of your job as Akira obviously is.
I am not usually a hardcore fan of Shiuko Kano's works but her Playboy Blues series is a much better portrayal of the host/escort service industry than this one could ever be.
Tl;dr: Akira is an ass.
His “fictional relationships” are his job, we get that, but a fictional relationship can still include sex. And unless he’s working in a Japanese “cuddle bar,” he is most likely sleeping with the clients that ask him to do so. Japanese escort services are not that pure. So unless it is clearly said that he is working as a “no sex” escort, I’m going to assume that he is working as a traditional one.
I've re-read this so many times, I love Rio and Miura together, but am I missing something in the story? Vol 2 Chapter 10, page 39 Rio doesn't pass his test right? But later Miura does, and then it's not explained what happened with Rio's situation after that?
In the long run it doesn't really matter because they end up happy lovey dovey and in the same university, but it was like a little hiccup.

Much crazy. So stress.
(╯°Д °)╯╧╧ EXACTLY!! That Chinese guy really pisses me off!
