The art is great, the story a little cliche. Boy, am I going to get some backlash for saying this, but honestly, I'm not much for plots where super-experienced semes act like they own their inexperienced ukes. And not really liking how Ayumi took innocent Kotaro to a gay bar where they all start talking about Ayumi's past trysts. A little disrespectful, but hey, he's the one in control and asserting his alpha-male dominance over his poor clueless "property," who will end up too smitten with him to ever stand up for himself.
Okay, I re-read it and while I still didn't like that Ayumi took him to a gay bar without thought for Kotaro's feelings and possible discomfort, I think because he's so eccentric and has always been a little self-centered, he pretty much didn't care about what anyone at the bar said or thought. He may also just be a little clueless due to that self-centeredness. I also read the raws, and to me, I guess Ayumi redeems himself in the second volume.
The only thing I didn't like was how lightly Izumi treated the whole drug trafficking thing with Sawaragi. Instead of "Waaahh, I didn't know he used me to pass off drugs and now he's going to jail, but I'll wait for him," he should have been super-pissed that Sawaragi used him like that. Not to mention the fact that drugs are a seriously dangerous substance, ruining peoples' lives.
He didn't use him though?
Sawaragi did sell drugs but he didn't use Izumi to sell it, he just made it seems like he used him so Izumi will hate him, the old man who he gave the coffee bag to did not do drugs, which means that the small drug bag he found in the end was just to mislead him to hating Sawaragi who is actually such a sweet character who deserves the love :'D
Then the people who are put in jail because they became addicted to opioid after using them to get rid of chronic pain because the legal drugs didn't cut it didn't have their families ruined? Oops?
I rated this 4 stars for all but the last story. I re-read it often, but to remind myself, in the comments I type in all caps "DONT READ CHAPTER 6, ONE OF THE SUCKIEST CHEATING STORIES IN YAOI." And mark it for me to read only. When I come back to this manga and see my note to self, I'm like, "oh, yeahh, THAT one," and avoid it.
I always get frustrated with manga where one character is in love with someone, but won't take the risk to come out with it, and uses another person as a replacement. Double frustrated when the replacement is a family member of the original love interest. Good thing Kyuu was able to deal with the fact that Toshi was banging his brother. Personally, I would have a hard time with my childhood friend having sex with my sibling as a replacement, even though I found out later that they loved me all along. That's just me. Tons of people do shit that I couldn't do though, as evidenced by those talk shows with episodes with titles like, "My husband got both my sisters pregnant, and now I hate them but they still make me babysit!"
I loved this comment. First, I agree with your opinion regarding "replacements". I get it when someone dies or if they are 100% hetero and you're gay, but for cowardice to be the reason, it pisses me off. Second, I admire your self awareness and acceptance that not everyone thinks or acts as you do. That is a rare and admirable trait these days. Third, damn you have a great sense of humour. Your "Maury" episode title was priceless and it made me laugh. So, thanks for all of it.

I liked the first story, meh on the second story. The first story reminded me of how much it disturbs me when a "hetero" character says he's not gay, but can love and have sex with another man anyway. Dude, there's a word for that - it's bisexual. Doesn't matter if it's one guy only, you still ain't completely straight.
Maybe some mangakas in Japan aren't fully versed in the myriad of possible sexualities, and are still under a "one or the other" mindset.
