Author messed up thinking people will enjoy both couple simultaneously. The audience for both of them has kind of already divided. It would have been better to focus on one couple before shifting to another so both can be enjoyed or skipped to the one they want. This is messy

I think this approach only works if both of the couples have been given the same stage since start in comic. Otherwise, it is a very live action/anime kinda thing that doesn't translate that well to comic.
It works well for hints at second cp while showing main cp mostly. Then giving second cp the space to shine.
