i honestly don't see what there is to dislike about him. he's never forced misha to do anything he doesn't want. instead he's offered him nothing but opportunities to find himself, never asking for anything in return. even at the start, MISHA was the one that told ilya that he'd do anything to stay with him. misha crawled into his bed.

ppl also make it seem like misha has been just tolerating the B/D play. like have we been reading the same story? misha seems to be enjoying the sex just as much as ilya...

it's funny how just bc someone is older and wealthy, ppl automatically assume the worst. yes, ilya is in a position of power, but he's just as capable of being sincere in a relationship as the next guy.

I agree Ilya has given Misha a chance to embrace his life and all the opportunities to become an even better man. I completely feel the love and respect that the writer is conveying between Misha and Ilya, the friendship, honor and the love is beautiful.

i completely agree with both of you! i love their relationship, even if it isn’t perfect or doesn’t have a happy ending. i’ve seen multiple people call ilya the “bad guy” for engaging in a bdsm relationship with misha when he had an anusive past. like wtf? bdsm is NOT abusive and misha onviously has a place in his heart for ilya. the compassion, trust, kindness, friendship... everything; it’s beautiful. this story is beautifully written. agh i wish i could meet the author

i know, it's ridiculous. i mean, WHAT specific part of their story seems like their relationship is treading abusive territories? i know misha used the word "abuse" when pondering their relationship, but have ppl considered that he's just unfamiliar with bdsm terminology? it's safe to assume he's never explored the s/m dynamic before. shit, he even becomes a full blown s himself in the future! obviously some part of him is fine with it...
