Before i had the speculation that the ML was being controlled by the father of the FL which was true in some way but the ML seems to be at fault too because he decided to leave her alone and approached things in a way that makes her seem like a bother to him. His way of expressing things made her worse. His way of taking care of his son made it so that ELLE would be afraid of his own mother till the moment she died which is why he resented his dad leading the dad to end up in the same way his mother did, seeing everything he has done through her eyes and realizing that what he did was the worse decision he could've ever done. He might be innocent to some point but not to the point where he doesn't have a single fault. he probably has memories from then and is trying to fix things and Elle may actually be the reason why the duke even wished to redo everything he had done, like taking Elle away from the FL. Elle might be a baby but for some reason i have this feeling that's telling me that Elle was the one who made the second life possible since he and his mother are loved by nature. so far i dont really hate the ML because he didn't do anything as bad as other stories i read so far other than have her child taken from her which is in no way agreeable in my opinion but other than that i think that he may have done it to protect her and even have known her when she was younger but she may have forgotten because of the trauma she had soffered.
