If I am not mistaken, the author is American so it will be difficult to find raw in other languages because the original series is already in English. Honestly I though the portrial of the mc is very good because the author is hitting good topics of anxiety and insecurity. We do things to try to lessen that anxiety and that could be anything; just like with the mc she beliefs if she tries to fit in (because she has always been an outcast when she was young) thinking it will help her relieve that anxiety, but she still find herself not trusting the people around her because of her past experience. Doesn't really matter if what she's doing is good or wrong, her feelings and insecurities are so perfectly portrayed that it actually reminds you how humans can be in some situations. I don't think the author did that so we could hate on her character, but to understand it instead
