okay... why is the new translation also kind of messy? it's good that they fixed the messed up part from the first translation wrt the main character's friend's crush, but... now other parts of the story don't make any sense.

"cheap" yeah... it's a machine translation. i appreciate the cleaning they've done and the better font choice and everything, but don't take this translation as a better version compared to the other one. at least the original translator knew that what was actually being said during that part ("cheap" is what gets auto-translated with google for korean slang that's used when someone's coming).

i'm reading a mtl of the novel and there's a whole scene missing between ch. 14 and 15 that had me so shocked i couldn't move. i'm glad the comic artist didn't include it.

so there's a scene in eunjae's classroom during one of the breaks between classes (when the teachers are in the staff room while the students are meant to be self-studying). eunjae and seung are sitting in the back trying to study (like a couple of the other boys in the class). meanwhile taewoon (the main bully that regularly picks on eunjae—he's the one who said eunjae looked like a weak omega in ch.2 of the comic) and a bunch of the other boys are at the front of the class watching omega porn on one of their phones. they're being very loud and all of a sudden the boys start talking about how far they could come or whatever... so three of them have a competition to see who can shoot the farthest. there's like fourteen guys all gathered around the desks they've put together to watch three of them compete in this weird little game.
taewoon comes in second place and because his pride is hurt or whatever he starts asking who'll go up against him for a rematch and no one else wants to. and then taewoon spots eunjae sitting by himself (because seung left when the boys' competition started claiming he needed to go to the bathroom) and goes over to him to start picking on him.
taewoon stands over eunjae's desk and asks eunjae if he wants to play with him. eunjae pretends not to hear him. taewoon says something about how it's not like he wants to fuck him or anything, just that he wants to play the game again, though it'd make sense eunjae would get excited by it because eungjae is "a promising omega." the other guys in the class are just watching this all happen, neither encouraging it or stopping it... but they look "interested" (...gross). he pushes eunjae down onto the desks and makes eunjae hit his chin. he says he's not trying to fuck him, he just wants to see who comes farther. then some of the other boys cheer (...literally so gross). and then as eunjae's like literally about to have a panic attack, jinhyun comes into the classroom with seung trailing behind him (having clearly left to go get him). he comes over and pulls taewoon off of eunjae and asks what he thinks he's doing trying to bully a sick kid. taewoon says he should stay in his own class and mind his own business. jinhyun steps right up in taewoon's face and then says that if he wants to bully/pick on someone then he should pick on him instead, saying "try hitting me, bastard" before shoving taewoon. eunjae has this thought then that jinhyun will definitely awaken as a dominant alpha (he has this aura here that's intimidating literally everyone in the room. like the room is dead silent now). taewoon backs down quickly like "ah i can't even joke around you" and then goes back over to his little friends while eunjae raises up and fixes his clothes.
jinhyun tells eunjae to follow him and then they go out into the hallway. jinhyun's really angry (and eunjae doesn't know why) and says that he told eunjae to get angry when others try to bully him and start a fight. eunjae doesn't say anything because he's confused by how upset jinhyun is. jinhyun's like, why aren't you answering me? why don't you speak up and fight back when those fuckers try to pick on you and take off your clothes? and then he says this korean idiom like "how far does their disrespect have to go before reaching the limit (that eunjae can put up with)?" eunjae just timidly replies back "well..." and jinhyun says "you're always like this—" and then the bell rings. he calms down while they listen to the bell and stare at each other. then jinhyun asks eunjae if he needs to check his pulse. eunjae says he's okay now. jinhyun tells eunjae he needs to practice getting angry at others and saying no. then he asks if eunjae is hungry and hands him a candy to eat later. he quickly turns away and mumbles to himself "...don't continue bothering..." which eunjae mistakes for jinhyun implying that eunjae is bothering him (rather than what i actually think he meant: that he needs to do something so those guys don't continue to bother eunjae).
and then the next scene after this is when jinhyun runs into eunjae outside the hospital! which is in the comic. it adds a bit more impact to the moment jinhyun realizes eunjae now has to take medicine for panic attacks (my guess is that it shows that jinhyun realizes that eunjae was actually more effected by the bullying than he was letting on).

wow. first of all thanks for the lengthy reply and explanation. i appreciate u. also with the way youve detailed everything in that scene i can already see how much it contradicts the current vibe and story flow of the current story. theyre going for the light cutesy vibes whereas what u shared was on the heavy side. the current art is good dont get me wrong however with how it is rn i dont think the artist can show half of whats supposed to be shown on that scene. it already lacks a bit for me with how bland some expressions were :/ anyway one question and pls correct me of im wrong, no one said anything in that class as u said like no one defended him? wasnt his bestie in the same class??:(

seung is his best friend! he left the second the boys started playing that weird little game to go get jinhyun! jinhyun is... like... the student body president? or something like that? plus he's super popular and clearly going to be a dominant alpha so most of the guys listen to him. seung either went to get him to stop the game altogether or because he had the foresight to know they'd probably end up messing with eunjae. so in that way he was trying to protect eunjae, but other than jinhyun no one defended him outright.
i feel you on the art comment. and yeah... honestly the actual novel is a bit more mature than the comic (i've read the raws for the comic too and it seems like a lot of the more mature scenes have been cut from it, which i think is fair considering they're not adults yet). not by much! but it's not until jinhyun turns eighteen and manifests that the story stars to get more adult. the comic is pretty faithful to the novel, though, as the novel is really cute and sweet. that's why this scene from the novel threw me for such a loop. but scenes with taewoon tend to be like that... he's a complete creep.

oh okay! thats good to know about seung hes such a solid support system
im glad to hear too that it sticks close to the novel. and ive waited patiently for the official uploads to catch up with the fan uploads up until its latest updates so im willing to wait for the story to progress more as intended in the novel :) doesnt matter whether i get mature stuff or not im rly just here for them as a couple i adore mc sm haha thank you so much for all the replies!!<33

Yugeon is the main character. So that should be easy to remember lol.
Shinje is the leader of Erewhon and the male lead (white-blond hair, pale skin, incredibly beautiful according to the novel, pretty messed up because of the torture he’s endured since he was “born” but learned about humanity after getting away from the academy and can pass for being somewhat normal lol, S class, has telekinesis and was specifically *made* to defeat Almuten). He’s the only one on the cover now, so it should be easy to remember him!
Taein is Shinje’s right hand man in the team (dark hair, always wearing gloves, terse, A class, has corrosive touch… iirc).
Chan is a member of the team (dark hair, tanned skin, is the most “well-adjusted” of them all since he didn’t awaken until much later, brash, S class, can shapeshift into animals).
Heesu is the final member of the team (honey-blond hair, smaller than the others, loves sweets and food, probably the most twisted since he awoke very early and has never even tried to act human, A class iirc, has mind control abilities).
this scene in the novel was one of the ones i was most looking forward to.
