ngl, I like how "Yvonne" and Penelope's relationship isn't like simple and petty. It's legit life and death and "Yvonne" is super.... interesting? Scary? Idk how to explain how I feel
Let's say the original game has some like similarity to this current story. That means that this "Yvonne" if NOT real(or a real human ig?), she married the future emperor of the empire in the game and got to control the fucking emperor. Even if she DIDN'T marry the prince, the other characters are powerful as well AND they not only have political power(Although Eclise is kinda more physical than political bc family ded), they all got main character buffs most likely and are powerful in other ways. Either being rich, having connections and being strong magically or having resources to be able to physically handle themselves. All the targets seem like intentional BY the cult and "Yvonne". Eclise legit you would think is the only one that is not authority wise strong but this chapter reveals every target character is in fact very powerful or possibly even a future authority figure as well. So the end of the original story legit could be the cult taking over the fucking empire if the story was something like the one we are reading.
Low-key, the cult kinda smart like damn
Even with the whole brain-washing thing, they know where and how to affect the empire or a large group of people at once without violently taking over. Either bc they themselves are possibly not strong enough or bc of other issues.
It's that or I am just crazy and overthinking things BUT STILL.

Who is Leila/Layla??
I feel like I am missing something and reading back doesn't help ;v;

If I remember and understood it right, it (she) is some sort of malevolent force/spirit that has possessed the body of the real daughter.
Lelaians is this cult that seems to try to gather all magic for themselves for some nefarious reason. Leila would be their priestess? A leader of sorts?
That's what I gathered.

I think it's because they want us to slowly come to the realisation ourselves, in the same way Penelope has to.
In one chapter, Penelope mentioned that Yvonne was dead long ago (we saw her skeleton) and recently she noticed that Yvonne didn't even have a reflection.
But since Yvonne can brainwash people, most see her as kind and innocent. Despite evidence pointing at the contrary...
Seriously, no wonder Penelope wants to stay out of the whole situation. "Yvonne" is terrifying (⊙_⊙ )
Pacing is too fast imo. There isn't a lot that is really helping me latch on to the characters with how fast everything is moving. Art is good but would wish the pacing was better.
