For people who didn't know, a parent cutting off a son's top knot in ancient asia times meant that they have given up on this person or that there son is disobedient. It's a big disgrace tbh, extremely humiliating because you can no longer wear the traditional head wear. it's like cutting off your's son's heritage. Meaning that his father knew what he was doing and marked him as being a dishonor to his family and country.

Oh? Hm, well it must be different for those of Korean decent? Sort of? I mean compared to the Japanese they cut off hair because they are being disowned from the family (the exact same way ^). Yeah! It was was the same in japan as well as parts of china and korea, all the Asian countries that followed the teaching of the philosopher Confucius. It was one of his teaching actually! The only thing different between the countries was the head wear! I'm a history nerd myself!
