This is a masterpiece. A sad story with a satisfying and well-deserved happy ending. anyone skimming through the synopsis and comments if this is good, I assure you, you won't regret it.

I have come back and read the last two chapters many many times and each time it brings me to happy tears. I truly love this masterpiece and highly recommend it!! This deserve nothing FIVE STARS!!(▰˘◡˘▰)

Shouta isn't a goody two shoes or the naive type who tries too hard to the point of insensitive. He endured Aoi's relapses and understood how deep Aoi's wounds run. he wasnt even jealous of Aoi's dead lover and made it that Aoi understood how much Masato loved him before his death. He helped Aoi more than the owner did, made sure that Aoi heals instead of burying it thru hatred. Aoi has his scars and the author did so well in letting it fester and mark his personality even when they became lovers. Most would have made it as if the trauma had gone coz of love, but this one tackles it well.

and seeing them grow older is beautiful! Lantern plants and how lanterns are often used to light the way, kinda makes it more symbolic for me. And Masato's death even lingered in a positive way, as if he blessed them unintentionally because he loved Aoi that much.

Lol. Anywaaay, damn! I love seeing them as old men. I love how patient MC was! He really did everything for A to have closure from his old flame and even his family. Props to A for not taking his own life. That was one hell of a trauma TT

If only I had the words to express how unexpectedly good this made me feel. I am crying sure, but I am so pleasantly surprised at how several issues were handled.
I like that the trauma was properly addressed and I like that we were shown how much effort Shouts put for Aoi.
I feel like we don't often see these type of writing in yaoi, where they brush away the traumas as soon as the couple get together. It's accurate how the trauma doesn't suddenly leave you when you're in love.

It honestly touched my heart deeply, the part where we found out he sleeps late and wakes up early to not cause Aoi any worry or anxiety.
Wow the effort Shouts put, what a classy guy. I love him, I love Aoi and I love this author. I wish we had more because I could honestly take 100 chapters of just them living their life

It's Soo sweet!! I've never seen recommendations of this masterpiece!!! It's so underrated.... I thought I was aromantic but then stories like this makes me crave love so bad..... I wish I could get to experience such love .. slow but deep, caring, yearning... But there's no possibility as I've become quite old...

They are so sweet together! I like that the uke wasn't a shallow airhead & the seme wasn't just cool & aloof - they both had depth besides their first impressions

I think their relationship is more of a family-friend typa thing or like super distant relatives (akiha didn't know they were related until lile he got there so that's that). It's like an asian thing where we call our family friends "aunt/tita or uncles/tito" in gatherings or smth idk it's hard to explain, it's a community type of thing.

When they say "relative" I'm like 90% sure they just mean that their families have known each other for a long time, but aren't actually blood related. Also think that wolf got off the hook too easily but like whatevs

great communication skills between yukuri and akiha despite the fox spirit deviously acting on akiha's subconscious feelings for yukuri. i love that yukuri communicated how he doesn't see akiha as just another "animal" but rather, a person he really cares about in the end. one of my favs besides the story with the werewolf and his neighbor <3
