People whining about others whining about not liking the manhwa is so funny lmao. Guys, this is a PUBLIC comment section. Whether you like it or not, your favorite yaoi will have people who don't like it. You have to deal with it. Backstories are important to any story, but people can absolutely have grievances with backstories that drag on for FAR too long. Which I think is the case for this manhwa. You don't have to be a porn addict to not like certain aspects of an yaoi, tf kinda excuse is that? If anything, this entire backstory has been filled with Victor having explicit sex with his ex lol. Please make it make sense.

i dont think we read the same backstory. the beginning of it was to establish their relationship, among that was sex. but they havent had any sexual contact in several chapters, its literally just been a breakdown of victors trauma and ptsd from his abuse and torture. in fact, victor and his ex havent properly interacted for a WHILE.
and people are allowed to be upset that there are still those who complain about the backstory dragging on too long, when its essential to the story. its also just as simple for us to shut up about the people complaining, as it is for them to simply not read the story.

Or you can simply not read the comment section if you don't like seeing differing opinions about the backstory. It is also that simple to not read comments if people complaining bothers you so much lol. It's so silly to say "don't read" just because people have a few words of complaints about the pacing of the backstory. It's not like people are complaining about something that happened 100 chapters back.

Thank FUCK this arc is over. This arc almost made me want to drop this manhwa. I don't care about Yanagi and his wife and this arc didn't need to be as long as it was. I still don't like Yanagi, honestly. The fact that Rindo is such an airhead to realize Yanagi's feelings also bothers me a lot. I wish he would draw a line between him and Yanagi, but seems like that's never gonna happen.

The way I used to like this manhwa, but everything went down the drain with the slavery plot-line. FFS. Like genuinely, was that really necessary? The narrative wants me to feel bad about Penelope, but slavery is slavery no matter how much the plot tries to justify it. I am also disgusted by all the slavery defender in this comment section, ngl. "B-but Penelope is doing this to survive :(" yeah, still slavery, people. Your villainess is doing villainess stuff, you should be happy about it, not try to justify her lol.
"She treated him so well" yeah, that's what slave owners said to justify owning slaves. Some crazy ass takes in this comment section.

It was her or someone else who would treat him worse, she was forced to make a choice BY THE GAME, remember? Knowing the story and being forced into a death game, you would try to mitigate things without appearing suspicious to avoid risks. You’re pushing morality on a high horse and comfort when Penelope was struggling to stay afloat to survive the game and her impending doom of 99% rate from ALL characters. These are to her, fictional characters, and shes trapped in a fictional DEATH GAME. Dawg why do yall act so insufferable when shes doing better than most of us would when trapped in a deadly game

Again, she participated in slavery. She used Eckles because she knew he was the easiest option to manipulate. She does not show even an ounce of guilt for it either. Also, she treated the other MLs coldly even though she is in a death game. Girlypop makes zero sense to me because she flip flops around her priorities.
"Or someone else would treat him worse" Dawg, again that's literal slavery talking points that slave owners used to use. Yall are not doing anything to make yourselves look any better

Brother this guy STINKSSSS. You wouldn’t be all optimistic and caring when you KNOW you will be BRUTALLY murdered by these fake ass characters in a ALREADY SET motion. You haven’t been reading the story AT ALL, it was either she took him and eventually leave him to his own devices (which he ended up NOT doing cuz he could not fathom being ‘abandoned’) or risk getting killed by him under someone else’s control and training. IT WAS HER DEATH SET IN MOTION. Which part do you not understand . Please don’t read stories if you have the attention span of a fly.
You’re so chronically online that you’re fixated on slavery in a fictional fantasy victorian setting. Maybe if you’re so inclined to protest go outside and touch grass bruh, put mangago and yaoi stories down cuz your ass is not advocating for the right things in the right way. Most if not ALL fictional fantasy historical survival stories are NOT written for you if one mention of slavery sets you off to argue for the sake of arguing

You can see how much the author has honed their writing since the original manga. Both the sequel and Ingle's story was written far better than the first manga and well, both have consent, unlike the blatant non-con in the first manga. Which is a shame because both Loki and Alkil are very interesting character-wise.
The story is interesting in its own right as well. Obviously the start of their relationship was bad, but the understanding, chemistry and communication in the sequel is so fantastic. You are better of reading this as a stand alone manga as an already established relationship than checking out the horrendous prequel.
Felt pretty bad for Venn. He was also in an abusive environment like Alkil was and he was left behind by the only person he could trust and when he finally meets his brother, he is hostile as hell to him. The poor dude was getting rag dolled around so much. I was impressed by how understanding he was about walking in on his brother and his boyfriend making out lol. I am glad he didn't make a big deal out of it.
Also, Tol needs to take a hint. He is so gullible that he still hasn't realized Alkil and Black Eagle are lovers. He is still tryna sleep with Loki lmfao. Dude, you need to take a hint. I get that he is probably lonely that BE no longer sleeps with him anymore, but he is a little bit too childish.

People were losing their minds over Chaheon being "toxic" when he is well aware of his possessiveness and so does his boyfriend and he does not give a SHIT lol. There are far more problematic tropes to be worried about then a relationship where both parties are mutually ok with their arrangement and relationship dynamic.

The parents in this pissed me off. All a bunch of incompetent assholes. Si-in was probably the only competent parent of the bunch but he died. Sohan was a realistic character but I felt so irritated by the extreme filial piety nevertheless. The inability to stand up to toxic parents is a very real thing for kids with abusive parents, but it's frustrating to witness anyway.
The ending felt a bit rushed. I wonder why the author never gave us side stories. It would have been really nice. Nowadays manhwa authors use side stories as a way to expand more storyline, which is nice.
This could have been a short and sweet 30 chapters manhwa. The designs for both the MCs are absolutely banger.
