The fact neither of them were pushovers and didn't let each other be walked all over made this a tolerable read. Both of them are fucked up, so it isn't just one person being trampled upon by another person.
The ending is so rushed, honestly. The last few chapters focused on trying to make amends with the parents and the friends, so there wasn't much focus on Skylar's and Cirrus' relationship as a result. They just don't address and talk about how Skylar said he was only dating Cirrus just because he couldn't date Chan-li.
Cirrus was insecure as hell and turns out his insecurity was right. What is to say that if Chanli was attracted to men, Cirrus and Skylar's relationship would ever work out? Skylar decided to date Cirrus on a whim because he felt like if they didn't, his relationship with Cirrus would collapse completely. So he just said to date each other to salvage the remainder of their relationship. He STILL had lingering feelings for Chanli when they were officially DATING each other. Of course Skylar was insecure because he caught on to that.
Their relationship issues needed so much more fleshing out. It felt like the author just decided to sweep it under the rug for the sake of focusing on resolving the other conflicts surrounding the friends and the families, so the relationship issues took a backburner and never came up-front again. The ending left me wanting more and it's a shame that this one is not going to have any side-stories as confirmed by the author in the author's note. I was hoping for this to have side stories that would expand more on their relationship that wasn't expanded on in the main story.

I am glad Matsumoto does not wear his ex's ring by the end. That's just such a shitty thing to do to your current partner no matter if your ex is dead or alive. I understand him trying to keep the ring as a memento to his late husband, which is obviously fine. It's a reasonable enough thing to want to keep with you.
The translation was kinda confusing. Half the time I was trying to decipher what the characters were trying to say. Maybe I am just too much of a noob when it comes to fancy English, lol.

It was undeniably selfish of Yuujirou to want Rui to stay with him and ultimately Rui prioritizing his career over Yuujirou was the right decision to make. If I was in Rui's position, I would have done the same.
You can't just lose the opportunity to make your career flourish like that because your boyfriend doesn't want you to, but Yuujirou not wanting to deal with a 4-year long-distance relationship wasn't uncalled for either. He had every right to question that relationship dynamic because it's also realistic for people to not want to deal with long-distance relationships. Especially if your relationship is fairly new.
I would also be kinda pissed if my partner suddenly sprung the idea of a long-distance relationship on me, lol. It's not like that topic was a well discussed one between Rui and Yujirou. I get why Yujirou was so shocked when Rui sprung such a big information on his head out of absolute nowhere.
Neither one of Rui or Yuujirou were wrong here. Both of them were right in their own positions and it makes zero sense to demonize either of them for their decisions. Many people DO decide to break up when one partner moves for long term in another country. It's not a dynamic that works for a lot of relationships.
This was the first conflict in a BL/Romance where both characters weren't wrong for the stance they took.

The Shiratori arc in this pissed me off, ngl. I felt like after everything they'd been through, it was not necessary for Shiratori to be an obstacle. Not to mention, if Shiratori wasn't an asshole, I don't think Utou and Sumi would have ended up together at all. I really got tired of all the manufactured angst at some point.
Also, confused about the new Lingering Scent extra. What was Miyabi sad about? It was like he briefly looked at some guy and got annoyed. Not sure if I should be happy for the continuation lol. This author loves to input sexual assault and sex too much as a point of angst.

I mean, I get why the ML rejected him initially. The MC is a shallow fellow who only dated people who were materialistic with him in the relationships. He knew nothing about the ML and came with a ring. You can't expect to spend your entire life with someone that you barely know about beyond sex. People are shitting on Asahi as if Igarashi didn't confess to dating people who are materialistic, like Asahi was right to reject him at the start.
Anyway, it was so weird how MC thought it would be a great fucking idea to try to date someone who confessed to non consensually fingering you. Like dude, what the fuck is wrong with you.

I have read way better omegaverse than this one. I dunno what people are on about in the comments, lmao. The writing honestly seemed kinda lackluster and cringe at times. Yeah, it didn't have any SA, but that is an incredibly low bar to cross for a story to be good.
With that being said, it wasn't bad by any means, just that the same plotline being regurgitated for 7-8 chapters isn't really that interesting. They could have easily wrapped this up within the traditional 5-6 chapters. Not to mention, there will always be an element of problematicness attached to student x teacher stories due to the power dynamics and the vast difference in experience. I guess the author at least had the decency to make sure the high school student had graduated before they moved in and had sex.
Korean love triangles are so predictable nowadays. The MC is either forced to fuck or consensually fucking the ex, all the while fucking the new guy as well. It's almost like the authors need an excuse to make the MC fuck around with two guys at a time. Not to mention the MC is always the bottom and the MLs are top, lol. Same cookie cutter story.
no seriously i cant stand it, its not even a love triangle the mc is just forced to get passed around between a good boy and a bad boy it's so annoying
It’s hot and that’s all that matters <3
not really, some people value good plots in stories
"fuck around with 2 guys".WHAT PISSES ME OFF IS THAT THERE'S SO MANY OTHER PLOTS AUTHORS COULD USE TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN.Like,it doesn't have to involve cheating/rape.Like, can't we just get a nice polyamory relationship or something?Or like make it about a sex club, anything as long as it's consensual and it doesn't involve people playing with other's feeling
