it keeps saying things like “it’s her fault for wearing that shirt or making that face”, and i know that this shit is common among the smutty manga but this! this is to a whole other level! it got to the point where i couldn’t read it anymore and i didn’t care about the characters in the slightest. i remember one scene specifically where they were in the restaurant and touya steps away and aoi or whatever the hell his name is is approached by some dudes and they flirt with him and then when he expresses his disinterest, they get forceful, grab his wrist, and say all this shit. and later he blames himself for wearing a revealing top and said that he should have said no harsher. like bro no. it’s not on you that they wanna act like complete fucking inconsiderate imbeciles. even touya says that shion should know better than to have her buttons undone when she’s alone with a man. that’s such fucking bullshit, and that’s the chapter i stopped reading at.
the author also does this thing where people are completely clueless about things that should be pretty basic. like yeah of course if he cares about this date that they’re going on, he should try to dress to impress, but aoi acts like that’s a completely new concept to him. i’ll be honest, touya had a small moment where we were walked through his emotions as aoi confessed, and his insecurity about accepting his confession because he was only attracted to him when he was a woman did seem to be a plausible thought process. that’s the only amount of praise i can give it.
and wtf does it batter if someone has bras in their apartment for? regardless of their gender, regardless of their sexual identity, they should be able to wear whatever they wanna wear and buy whatever the fuck they wanna buy. it’s not anybody’s business if he has bras in his apartment just to have them, if he wears them even though he’s a man, or if they’re a woman’s that left them. it doesn’t matter because it’s his shit and it’s his apartment.
also wtf was going on with the chef side character dude like what? that went nowhere and had 0 effect on the story. the only thing it did was probably help meet the smut quota. like he hit on her and then she kinda caved in, but then her “bout of horniness” came and she got scared and ran away. and then he made that comment about how it was a shame because she had such big boobs. like wtf. this manga seems like it was written by a man based on the way they not only write women but also write about women.
this was probably written by a s t r a i g h t man to top it off. the way the author refers to a straight man as being the “normal” was so off putting in my mind and it really doesn’t sit right with me when i hear that kinda stuff.
i honestly feel so mad at myself for even putting enough energy into thinking through this manga. i realllllly didn’t like this manga, and i had to think about these moments in order to formulate my reasoning as to why they were wrong.

first off: the emotional complexity that these characters are showing even in the first few chapters is *chef’s kiss*.
secondly: WHATIDSHESAYY? what could she have possibly whispered in his ear to make him show that kind of face? my bones are boiling right now with anticipation, and my heart truly aches when i read a couple of these chapters

That would be interesting. I think it's more along the line of his power though. It seems like there's something about his power that isn't understood yet (like maybe it has other applications?) that she knew from later in the game and she told him something about that, either a hint or telling him outright what he doesn't know about his power

Um...why would Arthur look so scared if Pryde told him alternate applications for his special ability to heal plants?
Anyway, Pryde basically doesn't tell anybody what she knows from the game unless it will save lives, so... alternative applications for Arthur's special ability are unlikely to come up here. (Wait until the next big story arc.)
personally, i’d describe his face a stunned or shocked. i wouldn’t say he was outright scared, but it’s really fun thinking about the posibilities

now that this tidbit has just been revealed about mr. maou, i’d like to think that when he tells haruka to think of her own happiness and how everyone is using her, he’s just projecting those feelings about his own situation onto her because he was born to complete this purpose that he doesn’t truly want to fulfill. while haruka is okay with fulfilling her purpose because that ultimately is what makes her happy, he feels disconnected from his purpose because he doesn’t want to destroy her and is trying to get her to understand that in this roundabout way.
the fact that we get to see moments where they feel comfortable enough with each other to share their insecurities and be vulnerable with one another is so great. we don’t get enough scenes like those where two people in a relationship address their individual thoughts and differing feelings about their role in said relationship. and the art is truly immaculate to boot
the handssssss in this are so gorgeous. they truly set the tone in this manhwa and focus on the importance of sensitivity to touch
there are a few people asking about DID, and i don’t have DID, but i have listened to people with DID
ok so from my understanding of DID, the portrayals of switching between alters and moments of split-consciousness* are pretty accurate especially because some switches take longer than others and are more draining, while some switches can be almost instantaneous. people usually have something like 10-20 (occasionally 30) alters, and when one “disappears” it usually merged with another alter. they don’t actually disappear. two just usually merge together, and it’s not like it’s an incredibly dangerous situation when the host merges with another like they were making it out to be. this is obviously dramatized for entertainment purposes, but i don’t believe that people with DID usually get down to one personality like they’re trying for.
*split-consciousness is often described as alters being in a car. when there’s just one person in control, there’s one person in the driver’s seat and everyone else is in the back, but occasionally, there are times with split-consciousness where there’s a person in the drivers seat and another in the passenger seat and they can share their input when they want to. from my understanding it’s often blurry in these situations where one alter ends and the other begins because they both may want to be in control.
this is my understanding of DID as a person who doesn’t have it, but i’ve taken most of this information from people who do. i believe this information to be true to the best of my knowledge, but there is an extent to my understanding because i don’t have DID.

this guy has a r e a l l y good grasp on consent. i didn’t expect that honestly. he does a really good job knowing when to cut things off if it has the potential to make him or his sub upset and i do love that.
