I think it doesn't feel exactly the same yet. MC has been taking those pills from his family to hide his condition. It seems likely those pills effect his yang quality. So it may be that MC still gives off a high level of yang, but not as high amount/quality so the ML doesn't know it's an exact match. Basically MC is like watered down alcohol. Still potent but the taste is a bit off and it takes more to get drunk.
